Pokémon and the European Space Agency (ESA) have teamed up for World Space Week 2026, running 4–10 October. The official range includes two Astronaut Pikachu plush variants, clothing and accessories; the ESA is also staging a wider European exhibition and outreach programme. The plushes sold to fans are not the Pikachu that travelled to the International Space Station.
What’s in the Pokémon × ESA collection?
Pokémon’s official announcement presents two Astronaut Pikachu plushes alongside clothing, while the ESA Shop lists a broader selection of apparel and accessories. The available items and prices below are those displayed in the ESA Shop collection, in euros; prices and stock can change. They are not a cross-retailer price comparison.

Pokémon says some space-themed selections are available only on the Pokémon Center US website. That does not establish that every item is sold in every region or through every retailer. Check the Pokémon Center × ESA announcement and the ESA Shop collection for current listings and regional availability.
Which Pikachu plushes are available?
The plush line has two designs: a male Pikachu in a white spacesuit and a female Pikachu in a blue flight suit. Pokémon describes the white-suited retail plush as matching the Pikachu that flew with ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot. The match is a design link, not a claim that either retail toy went to space.

Did the retail Pikachu plush travel to space?
No. ESA says a special Pikachu plush flew to the International Space Station with Sophie Adenot from 11 April to 17 June 2026. It spent 67 days in orbit and completed approximately 1,040 orbits, according to ESA. The plushes in the collection are retail products; neither one made that journey.
How does the merchandise fit into World Space Week?
The product collaboration is one part of a larger ESA and Pokémon initiative for World Space Week, 4–10 October 2026. ESA describes a Europe-wide exhibition and astronaut Pikachu experience, as well as outreach activities. These events are separate from the merchandise range and its retail listings.

ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher said the collaboration aims to help people across Europe connect with space: “Inspiring future generations is a key part of ESA’s mission. Through this collaboration with Pokémon, we are unlocking new ways for people across Europe to connect with space through a unique and engaging experience,” His statement describes ESA’s purpose; it is not evidence of measured educational outcomes. A Polygon article published on 2 October 2026 said a decorative astronaut Pikachu figure and a 1,000-piece puzzle were not yet available and had no announced release date at that time. The official Pokémon and ESA pages cited here do not confirm whether that status has changed. For current availability, check official product listings rather than relying on that older report.
