For 2026 Northwestern football, check the venue on your ticket before choosing seats: the first two home games are at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium, while New Ryan Field opens October 2 against Penn State. New Ryan Field’s official materials describe a 35,000-seat venue with covered individual chairs, accessible routes and seating, but do not publish a text list of accessible section numbers or independently verified seat rankings. First, confirm the stadium and game date
New Ryan Field is Northwestern’s replacement football venue; it has a different seating layout from the old Ryan Field. Northwestern announced that its September 5 and September 19, 2026 home games would be played at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium. The next five home games are scheduled for New Ryan Field, beginning October 2 against Penn State. Be cautious with search results for “Ryan Field seating chart” or accessibility information: older material may describe the former stadium. Northwestern’s official seating-chart page presents a chart image, but its accompanying text does not identify the new venue’s section arrangement. Do not rely on old section and row references for New Ryan Field.
How to compare New Ryan Field seats
There is no source-backed section-by-section “best seats” ranking for the new stadium. Compare the actual seats offered for your event on the live ticket map, and check the ticket description rather than inferring view or benefits from a section name.

- View and angle: Compare the seat’s location and perspective on the event map, including sideline and end-zone positions. Northwestern says the cantilevered design brings fans closer to the field than comparable seats at other stadiums; this is the venue’s design claim, not an independent sightline comparison.
- Accessibility: Check whether the offered location matches the guest’s mobility and other access needs, including companion seating, routes, elevators and proximity to facilities. Ask the venue to confirm specific locations and arrangements.
- Comfort and amenities: New Ryan Field says every seat has an individual chair with armrests and a cupholder, and is covered by the canopy. Premium clubs and other ticket products may have distinct benefits, so verify what is included with the specific ticket.
- Price and availability: Inventory, offers and resale listings can change. Review the current event listing and the terms attached to the ticket before purchase.
The venue lists capacity as 35,000 seats on its Seating & Sightlines page. Its promotional description does not establish that every seat has the same view.
Accessible seating, routes and facilities
New Ryan Field describes accessibility as part of the venue’s overall design. Its accessibility information says the site is graded at a two-percent slope and describes grade-level universal entry, accessible routes and seating, and elevators throughout the stadium. The venue reports seating equal to 194% of the ADA-required minimum and 11 fan-accessible elevators.

The venue also reports 25 private accessible/family restrooms and 44 general accessible restrooms. These counts and design details are claims published by New Ryan Field; the accessibility page does not state a publication year. The page says accessible seating includes drink rails, a protective rear rail and overhead cover.
The page does not provide a text list of accessible seat section numbers. For a particular event, check the live ticket map and contact the box office or Guest Services to confirm locations, companion arrangements and routes. If you already have a standard seat and later need an accessible location, ask about relocation; New Ryan Field says it may be available depending on availability, so it is not guaranteed.

Sensory rooms and event-dependent resources
New Ryan Field identifies two sensory rooms: one behind Section 221B on the Upper Concourse East and another behind Section 235 (Loft 1) on the Loft Level West. The venue says noise-reducing headphones and visual communication tools may be available, but spaces and resources can vary by event. Contact the venue ahead of time if you plan around a particular resource.

Northwestern announced a Seats for Those Serving offer for eligible Northwestern alumni in public service and public servants who live or work in Evanston. For 2026 home games at New Ryan Field, the offer is up to 500 program seats at each of five games; that is the announced maximum allocation, not a count of seats sold or still available. Eligible participants may apply for $25 seats, including fees and taxes, for up to four seats per game and up to two games in the season, subject to application and availability. Confirm current eligibility and remaining seats with Northwestern’s Seats for Those Serving announcement before relying on the offer.
