Nico Collins has delivered at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past three seasons, making him a high-upside fantasy receiver when available. For Week 4 of 2026, though, his hamstring makes availability and workload the immediate questions: Houston reported that he returned to practice, but its published injury report listed him as limited on Wednesday. Check the official game status and inactives before locking him into a lineup.
What is Nico Collins’s fantasy outlook?
Collins’s established production supports a strong receiving ceiling, but it does not guarantee a particular target count or fantasy score in any given week. His latest full-season baseline is 71 receptions, 1,117 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games in 2025. He has topped 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons.
For Week 4, separate that season-long track record from his current health. The hamstring report creates uncertainty about whether he will play and how much he could be used if active. The available reporting does not establish a snap limit or confirm a full workload.
What is Collins’s role with the Texans?
Collins is a Houston Texans wide receiver, listed as No. 12 on the team’s roster. His reception and yardage totals over three seasons establish him as a major part of Houston’s receiving game. They do not establish a 2026 target share, a guaranteed weekly target volume or a precise target projection.

His 2025 production was not limited to short red-zone gains: NFL.com records 38 catches for 738 yards and two touchdowns from his own 21-yard line through midfield. Inside the opponent’s 20, he had six catches for 38 yards and three touchdowns. Those figures describe where his 2025 production came from; on their own, they are not a forecast of future touchdowns.
How his production has held up
| Season | Games | Receptions | Receiving yards | Touchdowns |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 15 | 80 | 1,297 | 8 |
| 2024 | 12 | 68 | 1,006 | 7 |
| 2025 | 15 | 71 | 1,117 | 6 |
Houston’s official player profile lists the 2023 and 2024 totals; NFL.com lists Collins’s 2025 line, including 15.7 yards per catch. His 2026 season-to-date line on NFL.com at the time of the published injury reporting was seven catches, 75 yards and one touchdown in one listed appearance. That limited season-to-date line is not a full-season projection.

Is Nico Collins playing in Week 4?
As of the Texans’ October 2, 2026 update, Collins had returned to practice. The team’s Week 4 injury report listed a hamstring injury and limited participation on Wednesday. Those updates show progress but do not settle his final game status or expected workload.
His earlier hamstring absence is relevant context: Houston’s Week 2 report listed limited practice on Wednesday, no practice Thursday or Friday, and an out designation against Cincinnati. For the October 4 Week 4 game, use the final official status and same-day inactives rather than treating a return to practice as confirmation that he will play or receive his usual workload.

How to decide whether to start him
- Verify availability and likely workload. Check the final Texans game status and inactives. If he is inactive, leave him out; if active, remember that the available reports do not confirm a snap limit or a full workload.
- Compare target opportunity. Collins’s past production shows his established receiving value, but the sources do not establish his current target share or a Week 4 target projection.
- Consider the matchup and Houston’s passing context. Use current matchup information alongside health and likely opportunity; the available sources do not provide an opponent-adjusted projection.
- Apply your league’s scoring rules. Receptions matter differently in PPR and non-PPR formats, while touchdowns can swing a weekly result. No scoring-format-specific point forecast is established here.
- Compare your roster alternatives. Weigh each option’s availability and expected snaps first, then likely targets, matchup and touchdown dependence. There is no evidence-based numeric ranking here that settles a comparison with a particular receiver.
What the available numbers do—and do not—tell you
Collins’s consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and 2025 reception total are evidence of sustained production, not a promise of future usage. No target total, target share, rest-of-season projection, fantasy-point projection or positional ranking is established by the cited team and league statistics. Avoid turning the receiving totals into fantasy points without specifying a scoring format and calculation.
