Major first-party game reveals
Mario Tennis Fever
Nintendo highlighted Mario Tennis Fever as a new entry for Switch 2. Tom’s Guide’s live coverage reported Fever rackets with special effects, including a shot that could freeze an opponent, as well as a story mode and 36 playable characters. Those gameplay and roster details were reported in the live blog; Nintendo’s event archive confirms the game announcement and platform.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Nintendo’s recap described Samus exploring the planet Viewros with weapons, equipment, and psychic abilities, as well as a Vi-O-La bike. At the Direct, Nintendo announced a December 4, 2025 launch for both a Switch 2 Edition and a Nintendo Switch version. That was the announced date in 2025; it has passed, so it should not be read as a future release date.

Pokémon Pokopia
Pokémon Pokopia puts players in control of a Ditto transformed to look human, building a home for Pokémon in an empty landscape. Nintendo’s recap described learning moves, collecting materials, crafting furniture, growing vegetables, and creating homes. The showcase announcement placed the game on Switch 2 and gave 2026 as its release window; that is the event’s announcement, not a confirmation here of its current launch status.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension
Nintendo announced Mega Dimension, paid downloadable content for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and showed new Mega Evolutions including Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja. The event recap gave October 16, 2025 as the base game’s announced launch date and said the expansion was coming soon, with eShop pre-orders available then. Those are historical event details, not current purchasing or availability guidance.
Mario’s 40th anniversary and Super Mario Galaxy
The Direct included anniversary activities and news of a new animated movie, alongside Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. Nintendo described a physical collection and digital availability for the games individually. The games were announced with an improved user interface, button-and-stick or motion controls, a music player, additional Storybook content, and enhanced resolution; a Switch 2 update was announced to add 4K support.

Updates and downloadable content for existing games
Donkey Kong Bananza
DK Island & Emerald Rush was announced as paid downloadable content for Donkey Kong Bananza, including an Emerald Rush mode. Nintendo’s recap also noted a free demo of the main game.
Other returning series and editions
Nintendo’s regional recap also featured Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Kirby Air Riders, and the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition. The event included updates and announcements across Nintendo’s own games as well as partner releases; these titles were part of that broader slate rather than all being the same kind of release.

Nintendo also highlighted Virtual Boy games under Nintendo Classics. The event coverage described a dedicated physical accessory for Switch 2 and a cardboard alternative, announced for February 17, 2026. This was an accessory tied to the Nintendo Classics offering; the announced date does not establish present availability.
How to read the announcements
The showcase was not exclusively a Switch 2 launch slate. It combined new game announcements, Switch 2 editions, releases announced for both Switch generations, downloadable content, partner titles, and physical products. In particular, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was announced for both Switch 2 and Switch, while Pokémon Pokopia was announced for Switch 2. The presentation also included products beyond games, such as the Virtual Boy accessory and Mario anniversary merchandise.
