It was for eligible residents of Australia and New Zealand who bought the specified new bundle by April 14, 2026, and submitted a claim by May 15, 2026. The bonus was a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Individual Membership—not the service’s ordinary seven-day trial.
What the promotion included
Nintendo Australia’s offer provided a digital code for 12 months (365 days) of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Individual Membership with an eligible purchase of the new Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, product code BEE-S-KB6LA(AUS). Nintendo’s promotion terms stated the included membership’s normal value as AU$59.95 or NZ$69.95.
The terms were limited to residents of Australia or New Zealand, with one claim per person. Eligible purchases had to be made through a participating retailer in either country or My Nintendo Store Australia. The promotion did not apply to Nintendo customers elsewhere.
Purchase and claim deadlines
The purchase window ran from 12:00 a.m. AEDT on March 10, 2026, through 11:59 p.m. AEST on April 14, 2026. April 14 was the last day to buy the bundle and qualify; it was not the last day to submit the promotion claim. Claims opened March 10 and closed strictly at 11:59 p.m. AEST on May 15, 2026. Both deadlines have passed.

What an eligible claim required
During the claim period, applicants had to complete Nintendo’s online form with their name, mobile number, email address, eligible country, console serial number, retailer, purchase date and receipt number, and upload a clear copy of the tax invoice or receipt. Nintendo’s terms said alternative proof of purchase would not be accepted.
The terms excluded bundles that were pre-owned, refurbished, repaired, ex-demo, previously used or previously sold; acquired free, below wholesale cost or in exchange for a return; not fully paid under a layby, raincheck or similar arrangement; disputed through chargeback; or not imported and distributed in Australia or New Zealand by Nintendo Australia.

Membership code, renewal and account restrictions
The code could be redeemed through Nintendo eShop on Switch 2 or Switch, or online, using an Australian or New Zealand Nintendo Account. Nintendo’s terms allowed redemption for up to three years after the code was received, but that redemption window did not extend the separate May 15, 2026 deadline to claim the offer. A person who never submitted a claim by that date cannot claim the promotion now.
Automatic renewal was enabled when the code was redeemed. Under the terms, the account holder could turn it off in Nintendo Account settings up to 48 hours before the free 12-month period ended to avoid a renewal charge. The terms listed AU$59.95 or NZ$69.95 as the renewal price, but the price shown at redemption governs and may change; those historic terms are not a guarantee of today’s price.

Existing membership status affected redemption:
- An active Expansion Pack Individual Membership received an additional 12 months.
- An active standard Individual Membership received Gold Points compensation for the overlapping period, as set out in the terms.
- An account that was part of an active Family Membership could not redeem the code.
The code was single-use and non-transferable for cash, and could be redeemed to one Nintendo Account. Nintendo said it would not replace a code that was lost, stolen or used without authorization.

Nintendo Australia’s Nintendo Switch Online FAQ describes a standard seven-day free trial, not a free year. That trial does not include content exclusive to Expansion Pack.
