It explains each region’s main restoration theme and flags the quest-order advice as guidance from a community walkthrough—not a current, independently verified step-by-step route.
What to expect from No Place Like Home
No Place Like Home is a single-player cleanup, farming and exploration game. Ellen Newland visits her grandfather’s farm before moving to Mars, finds him missing and the farm in ruins, then works to help the community, find her grandfather and rescue missing animals. Play involves clearing and vacuuming trash, recycling it into resources, farming, cooking, crafting, caring for animals and rebuilding a home. The official Steam listing describes those activities and the regions’ broad restoration goals; it does not provide a complete quest sequence.

The route below follows the Adventure Mode section order in Mr. Moyer’s “NPLH full guide”. The author identifies update 1.3.K_232 as the guide’s basis and warns that some information may be outdated. Treat exact steps and prerequisites as version-sensitive, and check your game’s displayed version if a listed trigger or route does not match.
Adventure Mode walkthrough route
Use this as a progression map rather than a guarantee that every quest must be completed in a single fixed order. According to the community guide, some quests in different zones can be pursued concurrently, while others depend on earlier-zone quests.

- CLEANING: Clean the world, destroy mountains of trash, vacuum all the rubbish, and recycle resources to build your very own dream farm! Everything you need can be found and recycled from trash, and if you befriend local neighbours, they may prove very helpful during your farming and adventuring endeavours.
- FARMING: Find seeds, become a farmer, and use your produce to cook delicious dishes that can be traded for useful items! There are tons of plants, fruits, vegetables, flowers and trees to find and grow. You can also make honey, jams, mayo, and lots of other preserves to spice up the farming fantasy.
- EXPLORATION: Explore and go on adventures through many diversified zones. Trek through the wonderous Lonely Hills region and restore the damage done by its poisonous gasses. Save animals from icy weather in Frozen Peaks and fix the leak from an old factory that has turned the local flora into giant mushrooms. Break the giant dam and release the river to bring nature back to the desert.
- PARTIES: Find, rescue and befriend farm animals that have gotten lost throughout the valley. If you gain their trust and take good care of them, you can be sure that they will return the favour. Once you are ready, you can show off your fun side by giving them funky hats and throwing them awesome parties!
- RENOVATIONS: Rebuild, refurbish and decorate your house into a cosy place of perfection. Find awesome decorations and items across the world and use them to personalize your abode. After all, there is No Place Like Home!
- Complete the tutorial and establish the farm. Follow the opening tasks to learn the cleanup, recycling and farming loop and begin restoring your home base. The community guide’s Adventure Mode walkthrough starts with the tutorial and first days on the farm.
- Explore the lake and open up travel. The guide covers the lake before the later regions. It says fast travel becomes available through the global map in the backpack menu after you open a zone door. This is community-guide guidance for version 1.3.K_232, not a confirmed instruction for every current build.
- Work through the Underground Labyrinth and Lonely Hills. These are the next areas in the guide’s route. Lonely Hills has an official regional objective: address the poisonous gases damaging the area. The store listing gives that goal, but not the individual quest steps required to achieve it.
- Continue into Frozen Peaks. The official listing frames this region around helping animals through the cold and repairing a factory leak associated with giant mushrooms. The guide places Frozen Peaks after Lonely Hills and includes the quarry in its progression outline.
- Restore the Desert. The broad objective is to break the dam so water can return to the desert. The exact sequence of quests and actions is not established by the official regional overview; use the community guide’s Desert section for its version-specific route.
- Reach Sunken City. The community guide’s progression ends with the final Sunken City encounter. It is the last stop in that guide’s broad route; do not assume every individual quest trigger will be identical in a later game build.
Quest order: when to switch zones
The guide advises that you can often make progress on quests from more than one zone at once, but some later tasks are gated by earlier quest progress. If a character has no new task or a quest objective does not advance, check whether another zone’s quest or a hand-in is a prerequisite before repeatedly searching the area.
Example prerequisite involving Harold
Mr. Moyer’s guide says Harold’s new quests do not start until you bring the fungus to Rudy. This is a specific prerequisite reported by that guide, not a current-build guarantee. If the hand-in does not unlock Harold’s tasks in your game, check the game’s quest log and version rather than assuming the guide’s trigger is still exact.

Adventure Mode or Challenge Mode?
The community guide has separate sections for Adventure Mode and Challenge Mode. Its Adventure Mode section is the relevant one for a longer progression route through zones and quests; the Challenge Mode section is presented as a quick start. The available sources do not establish all current mechanical differences between the modes, so this walkthrough does not assign additional rules or features to either one.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.About the guide’s version and current-build certainty
The guide is community-authored and explicitly based on update 1.3.K_232, which it associates with the addition of Challenge Mode and the Underground Labyrinth. Its author cautions that parts may be outdated. The Steam store and support pages identify the game and its publisher and developer, but they do not establish the current build or verify every quest trigger. Accordingly, the regional goals above are official store-page descriptions, while route order, fast travel and quest prerequisites are attributed to the community guide.
