The Nubia Neo 3 GT 5G was real, but the October 2024 story about ZTE preparing to launch it was an early identification report, not a full specification leak. ZTE unveiled the gaming-focused phone in March 2025; its final package includes a 120Hz OLED display, shoulder triggers, a 6,000mAh battery and 80W charging. The model number is Z2465N. Here is what the original report established, what the finished phone offers, and what buyers should verify for their market.
What the 2024 report actually established
On October 27, 2024, Gizmochina reported that a device called the Nubia Neo 3 GT 5G had appeared in the GSMA database under model number Z2465N. That was evidence that the model was in the pipeline; a database listing alone did not confirm a public launch date, retail price, or final specifications.
The report anticipated a 2025 introduction and predicted improvements by comparing the phone with the Nubia Neo 2. Its expectations about the processor, camera and gaming features were not confirmed specifications at the time. The eventual product did bring a more gaming-specific feature set, but those details came later from ZTE and Nubia—not from the original database sighting.

The following are advertised or documented specifications, not a guarantee that every retail region ships the same configuration. ZTE’s global product page and launch announcement provide the main hardware details.

What the gaming features do—and do not—mean
Shoulder triggers and Game Space
The dual shoulder triggers add physical touch points that players can assign to actions such as aiming, firing, jumping or activating an ability. That can leave more of the touchscreen unobstructed, but usefulness depends on the game and how its controls can be mapped. Game Space 3.0 is Nubia’s dedicated gaming interface; the NeoTurbo engine is intended to recognize game scenarios and manage performance features.
120Hz screen and touch sampling
A 120Hz panel can refresh up to 120 times per second, making supported motion look smoother than on a 60Hz screen. It does not mean every game renders at 120 frames per second: frame rate depends on the title, device performance, thermal conditions and game settings. The advertised 1,200Hz instant touch-sampling figure describes how frequently the panel can register touch input in a sampling window; it is not the display refresh rate and does not by itself guarantee lower end-to-end latency.
Cooling and bypass charging
The vapor chamber is intended to spread heat during demanding workloads. Bypass charging can route power to the phone while gaming without continually charging the battery, which may reduce battery-related heat and stress during plugged-in play. Neither feature is proof that the phone will maintain a particular frame rate in every game or session.

UNISOC’s performance claims
UNISOC says the T9100 works with its Miracle Gaming Engine and reports features including 90fps support in selected games such as Arena of Valor, fewer frame drops in supported scenarios, faster cold starts, lower aiming and shooting latency, a network engine intended to reduce latency, Tencent GVoice voice features, and image, HDR and resolution enhancements. These are vendor-reported capabilities and results for supported titles or conditions—not promises that all games run at 90fps or achieve the same latency on every network, setting or software version. How the finished phone compares with the early expectations
The original report was directionally right that the Neo 3 GT would be a gaming-oriented successor, but it did not reveal the final specifications. Compared with the Neo 2 details cited in that report, the finished GT moved from the Neo 2’s Unisoc T820 to a T9100 platform, from an IPS LCD to OLED, and to 80W charging. It also arrived with a 6,000mAh battery, a larger advertised cooling system, Game Space 3.0 and NeoTurbo, while retaining dual shoulder triggers. These are product facts established after the 2024 report, rather than details proven by the GSMA listing.
Everyday use: more than a gaming handset?
The 6.8-inch OLED screen, stereo speakers, large battery and 5G platform also suit video, browsing and general phone use. Its 50MP main camera is positioned as a secondary feature in the launch material: that specification alone does not establish image quality, and the available official details do not justify calling it a class-leading camera phone. There is not enough confirmed information here to specify additional rear cameras, front-camera capabilities, stabilization or video modes.

The angular, gamer-oriented styling and shoulder controls may be a plus for players but less appealing if you want an understated phone. ZTE showed Electro Yellow and Interstellar Gray; RGB or other design details may vary by configuration. Nubia positioned the Neo 3 series as an accessible gaming option, rather than as a premium flagship gaming phone.
What to check before buying in your country
The €299 figure was ZTE’s March 2025 starting price for the GT, not a verified current price in every market. Global availability does not mean the phone is sold or officially supported in every country. Before ordering, match the exact Z2465N variant to your needs and confirm the local seller’s terms.
- Network compatibility: Check the regional model’s LTE and 5G bands against your carrier.
- Box contents and charging: Verify whether the specific listing includes an 80W charger and compatible cable.
- Software features: Confirm that bypass charging, Game Space 3.0 and the features you want are present in the shipping firmware for that region.
- Configuration: Check physical RAM and storage separately; “up to 24GB dynamic RAM” is not a promise of 24GB physical memory.
- Practical essentials: Confirm NFC, expansion options, headphone-jack availability and any ingress-protection rating directly for the exact regional version; these details are not established by the cited launch specifications.
- Support and returns: Check warranty coverage, software-support commitments, return terms and the seller’s authorization in your country. The launch materials do not establish a long-term software-update duration.
- Game compatibility: Verify that your specific game supports the frame-rate mode or optimization feature you expect.
ZTE provides an EEA English user manual for the Z2465N. It is useful for model-specific operating and regulatory information, but it does not replace checking the retail listing and support terms for your market.

Who should consider the Neo 3 GT?
It makes the most sense for a buyer who values built-in shoulder controls, a high-refresh OLED display, a large battery and gaming-oriented charging and cooling features at a lower launch price than premium gaming-phone territory. The package is unusual for a conventional budget handset, but its real-world gaming performance still needs to be judged title by title.
Look elsewhere if camera performance, discreet styling, a confirmed long update commitment or independently established flagship-level sustained performance matter more than built-in gaming controls. A conventional mid-range phone may suit those priorities better; a premium gaming handset may be a better fit for buyers who are willing to pay more for higher-end performance and gaming hardware. No universal “best gaming phone” conclusion follows from specifications alone.
