The REDMAGIC 9S Pro went on public international sale on July 31, 2024. Nubia announced the REDMAGIC-branded gaming-phone series in China on July 3, revealed it to international audiences on July 16, and offered earlier access to some buyers on July 30. Those milestones explain why different reports quote different “global launch” dates.

So, if “global launch” means when the international REDMAGIC store opened the phone to the public, the answer is July 31, 2024. July 16 describes the international announcement phase, while July 23 and July 30 refer to early-bird availability rather than a universal retail launch.
Why reports quote July 16 or July 23
Launch coverage used different definitions of availability. July 16 was the date of the international reveal and publicity push. Some coverage described July 23 as availability because that was when the early-bird campaign began. Japan had its own July 25 preorder, and voucher holders could order on July 30. None of those dates means every country received simultaneous carrier, retail, and warranty support.
The July 3 announcement also applies to the Chinese unveiling, not the international sales rollout. Chinese and global versions can differ in firmware, Google-service support, languages, network bands, chargers, warranty channels, and regional restrictions.

REDMAGIC promoted improved heat dissipation and temperature reductions of up to 19.5°C or 25°C in different marketing materials. Those are manufacturer claims under stated promotional conditions, not a universal independent result. How it differed from the REDMAGIC 9 Pro
The 9S Pro was primarily a performance refresh, not a complete redesign. Its headline change was the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version, with a claimed 3.4GHz CPU peak versus 3.3GHz for the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 implementation. REDMAGIC also advertised a 1GHz GPU frequency, cooling refinements, and new gaming-oriented software and AI tools in REDMAGIC OS 9.5.

Important regional and buying checks
Global does not mean every market
The international store rollout did not guarantee a carrier launch, local retailer stock, identical prices, or identical warranty terms in every country. Check taxes, shipping, repair coverage, and the exact seller before ordering.
Chinese and global firmware are not interchangeable
Import units may have different Google-service support, language options, network bands, chargers, and update channels. Compare the listed bands with your carrier and country rather than assuming a global specification applies to an imported model. Regional specifications

Dimensions can differ by listing
REDMAGIC’s regional specification page lists a 9.47mm depth, while some secondary reports quote approximately 8.9mm. Use the specification for the exact regional configuration you are considering.

Should you buy a REDMAGIC 9S Pro now?
By August 2026, the 9S Pro is an older generation. An official product page showed it out of stock, although the global catalog still displayed the model from $629, reduced from a listed $649 starting price. REDMAGIC global catalog A catalog listing is not proof of available inventory.

- It can make sense when a genuine regional unit is heavily discounted and you specifically want active cooling, shoulder controls, a large battery, and an unobstructed display.
- Choose a newer model instead when longer remaining software support, newer silicon, current stock, or simpler warranty service matters more than the 9S Pro’s launch-era value.
- Compare the actual price gap. The catalog has also listed newer REDMAGIC models, including the 11 Pro from about $699 and the 11S Pro from about $799; these are catalog price signals that should be rechecked for your destination and configuration.
The launch date matters mainly for identifying the product’s age. For a purchase today, verify stock, firmware, network compatibility, warranty, and the price of a newer REDMAGIC phone before choosing the 9S Pro.
