The same weekly update added Cricket 24 and Anger Foot. This is a historical announcement, so check NVIDIA’s current catalog and membership terms before subscribing.
NVIDIA’s announcement identified Once Human as the Steam version. The game is free-to-play, but access to it through cloud streaming and the terms of a GeForce NOW membership are separate matters.

These dates and storefront listings come from NVIDIA’s July 11, 2024 update. They describe that announcement, not a guarantee that every title remains available in every country or on every current GeForce NOW plan.
What is Once Human?
Once Human is an open-world survival game from Starry Studio. Its post-apocalyptic world has been reshaped by a substance called Stardust. You explore, gather resources, craft equipment, build shelters or larger bases, and fight human and monstrous enemies while investigating the world’s story.

It supports solo play and cooperative play. The survival loop makes the title a practical cloud-gaming test: aiming, inventory management, construction and movement all depend on responsive controls, not just a high-resolution video stream.
How to play the Steam version through GeForce NOW
- Create or sign in to the Steam account that owns or has claimed Once Human. The official Steam listing is Once Human on Steam.
- Open GeForce NOW on a supported PC, Mac, Chromebook, mobile device, browser, select smart TV or SHIELD TV. Device support and features vary by region.
- Search the GeForce NOW library for Once Human and select the Steam listing.
- When prompted, sign in to the matching Steam account.
- Complete any required game or publisher-account authentication, then wait for the cloud session to load.
Menu labels and sign-in screens can change. A copy bought through another storefront should not be assumed to unlock the Steam listing automatically; storefront and account compatibility must match what GeForce NOW exposes.

What a GeForce NOW membership changes
NVIDIA’s 2024 announcement compared free, Priority and Ultimate access, saying paid members could stream at higher resolutions and frame rates and describing sessions of up to six hours for Priority and eight hours for Ultimate. Those figures are historical. Plan names, queues, session limits, prices and technical features may have changed, so consult the current GeForce NOW membership page before paying.
- Free access: May involve longer queues or stricter session conditions; the announcement does not establish a permanent current rule for Once Human.
- Paid tiers: Generally target shorter queues, longer sessions and higher streaming quality, subject to the live plan terms.
- Game ownership: A GeForce NOW subscription does not by itself purchase Once Human. The game’s free-to-play model and cloud-service membership are separate.
Is cloud streaming a good fit?
GeForce NOW moves game rendering to NVIDIA’s servers, which can help if a laptop or desktop lacks a suitable gaming GPU. You still need a supported device, the correct accounts, a stable connection and low enough latency for combat.

- Use the strongest available wired or 5 GHz/6 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
- Expect image quality and responsiveness to vary with congestion, distance from the serving data center and local network stability.
- Keyboard and mouse may be preferable for aiming, building, menus and inventory; a controller can be more convenient on a phone or TV.
- Cloud streaming avoids a local installation, but NVIDIA’s servers may still need to download and apply game updates.
There is no universal bandwidth figure in the cited NVIDIA announcement. A third-party guide has discussed 25 Mbps for 1080p/60 fps, but that is not a current NVIDIA-wide requirement and should not be treated as a guarantee: GameWatcher’s launch guide.
When the game is stuck patching
Live-service games can be temporarily unavailable while the cloud version is updated or validated. During July and August 2024, some players reported extended Once Human patching on GeForce NOW. Those reports describe that period, not a permanent current defect.

- Check the GeForce NOW “What’s New” hub and NVIDIA service-status information for maintenance.
- End the session and try again after the update window rather than repeatedly launching it.
- Confirm that you selected the Steam version and signed in to the correct Steam account.
- If the title is absent, consider regional catalog differences, publisher support changes or a temporary service issue.
Contemporaneous examples include a Steam community discussion and an incident record for long patching. They are player and status reports, not NVIDIA guarantees or instructions to repair the client manually.

- Check the live membership page for queue, session, resolution and frame-rate terms.
- Test your connection at the time and location where you normally play.
- Make sure your preferred input device works on the target phone, browser, TV or computer.
- Remember that catalog availability can change after the July 2024 announcement.

Do I need to buy Once Human to play it on GeForce NOW?

Can I use an Epic Games or console copy through the Steam listing?
Do not assume so. NVIDIA’s announcement specified the Steam version, so the storefront and account must match the version shown in GeForce NOW.
Does GeForce NOW guarantee that Once Human will always be available?
No. The July 11, 2024 announcement confirms that NVIDIA added it then; current availability can vary by region, publisher support, maintenance and catalog changes.
