How to spot the connections
Start with the most concrete shared meaning: CHEST, CONSOLE, VANITY, and WARDROBE can all be furniture. Then consider the less tangible meanings of BEING, CHARACTER, EGO, and SELF, which point to individuality. FURNISH, OUTFIT, PROVISION, and STOCK share a verb sense related to supplying or equipping. For the remaining words, punctuation reveals the pattern: inserting apostrophes turns all four into contractions.
