- Another group names sources of grill fuel.
- Watch for a familiar tree-related decoy among the words.
Full Connections answers for June 30, 2024
Spoilers below.
| Category | Words |
|---|---|
| OLD SAYING | ADAGE, CHESTNUT, MAXIM, SAW |
| GRILL FUEL SOURCES | CHARCOAL, ELECTRIC, GAS, WOOD |
| TREES | ASH, CHERRY, EBONY, GUM |
| HOT TUB COMPONENTS | FILTER, HEATER, JET, PUMP |
Why the word overlaps are tricky
CHESTNUT belongs with old sayings
CHESTNUT can look like a tree answer, but here it means a familiar or repeated saying. It groups with ADAGE, MAXIM, and SAW; ASH, CHERRY, EBONY, and GUM make up the tree group.
HEATER is not a grill fuel
HEATER may draw attention to heat, but it belongs with FILTER, JET, and PUMP as a hot-tub component. The grill-fuel group is CHARCOAL, ELECTRIC, GAS, and WOOD.
How Connections works
The puzzle presents 16 words to sort into four groups of four. The answer guides for this puzzle describe a four-mistake limit, so a tempting overlap can make a plausible grouping costly. These solutions are for the historical June 30, 2024 puzzle, not the current daily puzzle.
