How NYT Connections works
Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four based on a shared theme. NYT assigns each group a color: Yellow is the easiest and Purple the trickiest. Some words can seem to fit more than one theme, which is part of the puzzle’s misdirection. The New York Times Help Center says the daily game releases at midnight in the player’s timezone.
Why “today” depends on your timezone
The puzzle is dated March 14, 2026, and numbered #1007 in date-specific answer reports. Because the daily game releases at midnight in each player’s timezone, the active puzzle may change at different local times. Check the date shown in the game if your local calendar date differs from March 14.
