Purple: Heteronyms
Bow, row, sow and wind have different pronunciations and meanings depending on how they are used. For instance, bow can mean a ribbon or the front of a ship, or the act of bending; row can mean a line or a quarrel; sow can mean to plant seeds or a female pig; and wind can mean moving air or twisting something.
Archive note: another page lists a different green group
TechRadar’s dated March 24 answer page gives the wedding group shown above. WordCheats’ page for the same date instead displays a different board and lists LAWNCARE VERBS—EDGE, MOW, RAKE and WEED—for that group, while agreeing on Despicable, Kinds of Trucks and Heteronyms. The available pages do not explain the difference, so the two boards should not be combined.
Rank #2
Puzzle numbering also varies: TechRadar labels this game #1017, while other indexed archives label the date #1102. The sources do not explain the mismatch, so the date is a more reliable identifier than a number.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How Connections works
Connections presents 16 words and asks players to sort them into four groups of four based on a shared connection. The groups are color-coded by difficulty, and the dated answer page says a player can make up to four mistakes before losing. A new puzzle appears at midnight in each player’s time zone, so “today” can refer to a different edition depending on where and when someone checks.
