Spoiler warning: Hints come first; the full answers for Connections #976 follow below. This is the Wednesday, February 11, 2026 puzzle—not the different February 11, 2025 game #611.

Hints for today’s Connections groups

Use these clues before scrolling to the answer groups:

  • Yellow: Romantic longing.
  • Green: Money in the bank; gains or returns.
  • Blue: Solid or compact objects.
  • Purple: Complete a phrase that follows “roller.”

Answers for today’s Connections groups

Here are the four groups and the words that complete each one.

Yellow — Act lovestruck

MOON, PINE, SWOON, YEARN

Each word can describe longing for someone or being taken with them. “Moon” is the less obvious fit: as a verb, it can mean to be infatuated with someone.

Green — Earnings

GAIN, NET, RETURN, YIELD

Each can refer to money earned or a financial gain, return, or yield.

Blue — Compact mass

BLOCK, BRICK, CAKE, PUCK

Each can name a dense, compact object or mass.

Purple — Roller ____

BAG, COASTER, DERBY, RINK

Add each word after “roller” to make roller bag, roller coaster, roller derby, and roller rink.

Why this puzzle was tricky

NET, RINK, and PUCK can suggest hockey, but that apparent set does not account for a fourth word. The game splits them across different answers: PUCK belongs with compact masses, RINK completes “roller rink,” and NET belongs with financial earnings. Checking whether a tempting theme explains four words—not just three—is a useful way to test a possible group.
