How Connections works
Connections presents 16 words for players to sort into four color-coded groups of four. The Yahoo guide says a player can make four incorrect submissions before the answers are revealed.

- Start with the clearest matches; the guide suggests trying likely yellow words first.
- Watch for words that could plausibly belong to more than one category.
- Shuffle the board to see whether a different arrangement makes a connection easier to spot.
- If a nearly complete group triggers “one away” feedback, reconsider which one word may not fit.
The guide says the game is available through NYT Games on desktop or mobile and that its timer resets at midnight. That timing and access guidance is reported by the guide, rather than independently confirmed here.
