How Connections works
Connections asks you to sort 16 words into four groups of four based on a shared link. The groups are color-coded by difficulty: yellow is generally the most straightforward, while purple is the trickiest. Some words may appear to fit more than one theme, so look for the four-word set that works together.

GRAVITY, IMPORT, SUBSTANCE, WEIGHT. Each can refer to importance or significance.
Blue: Actions in fantasy sports
BENCH, DRAFT, START, TRADE. These are actions involved in managing a fantasy-sports roster.
Purple: Sci-fi movies, with “The”
ABYSS, FLY, MATRIX, THING. Add “The” to each to make The Abyss, The Fly, The Matrix, and The Thing.
