Hints for Connections #227
Try the broad clues first. Each line points toward one group without giving away its words.
- Selections you might find on your phone.
- Terms of endearment for family members.
- What a sight.
- A harmless inflection.
Need a more specific nudge?
- Think touchscreen tools.
- Think of what a child might call a relative.
- Look for parts of the eye.
- Consider how accent marks can change pronunciation.
The clues move from broad associations to the intended themes. Don’t assume every word that looks like a technology term belongs in the same group.

The purple category is about what happens when accent marks are applied: the puzzle words themselves do not need to display those marks. The category wording and answer set are reported for this puzzle by Tom’s Guide and Parade.
How Connections works
The New York Times describes Connections as “a word game that challenges players to find themes between words.” Players receive 16 words and sort them into four groups of four. Yellow is the easiest category and purple the trickiest, according to the NYT Help Center.

The daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s time zone and is free to play across platforms. The Help Center recommends an account to keep progress across devices. It also says the full archive is available to All Access and Games subscribers, with puzzles dating back to June 12, 2023.
