Need a nudge for the March 31, 2024 Connections puzzle? The available dated guides agree on two category names and their four-word groups, but they do not establish all 16 answers or settle the puzzle number. Start with the spoiler-light clues below, and stop before the answer section if you want to keep more of the puzzle intact.
How Connections works
Connections asks you to sort 16 words into four groups of four. Each group shares a theme, and the challenge is spotting the intended connection while avoiding tempting overlaps.
Spoiler-light hints
- One group is about losing your footing or falling.
- Another group names types of water.
- The other reported category labels concern a shape cinched at the middle and a word that can precede “bear.”
Confirmed category names and word groups
The dated March 31 guide lists these four category labels: TAKE A TUMBLE, KINDS OF WATER, THINGS THAT ARE CINCHED IN THE MIDDLE, and ___ BEAR. The two word groups established by a second dated guide are:
- TAKE A TUMBLE: FALL, SLIP, SPILL, TRIP.
- KINDS OF WATER: MINERAL, SPRING, STILL, TAP.
The available dated sources do not establish the members of the cinched-in-the-middle or ___ BEAR groups, so those answers cannot be supplied confidently here.

Why the puzzle number and full answer need caution
The title’s “#294” is not settled by the available records. Try Hard Guides and DocumentaryTube identify March 31, 2024 as #294, while the UnscrambleIt archive search result labels March 31 as #301. The TechBloat page also contains incompatible answer sets: its later table lists groups about stealing, influence, hairstyles, and “___ BUNNY,” rather than the March 31 categories above. That conflicting table should not be treated as the verified solution.
