Spoiler warning: This guide covers NYT Connections puzzle #632, released on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Try the hints first, then reveal the four categories and answers below.
The board contains 16 words that must be divided into four groups of four. Yellow is the easiest category and purple is usually the most difficult, but misleading overlaps can make any group deceptive.

Several entries invite plausible but incorrect groupings. SCROOGE, DEWY and DAISY, for example, may suggest a Donald Duck-related cluster at first glance. The intended blue group is broader: all four are Dickens characters, with BUCKET, PIP, SCROOGE and TWIST forming the complete set.

When a possible category appears, test every word against it and look for a stronger explanation for the remaining entries before submitting. Connections is designed so that a word can seem to fit more than one theme, while only one arrangement solves the entire board.
How NYT Connections works
- You receive 16 words and sort them into four groups of four.
- Every group has a color indicating difficulty: yellow, green, blue or purple.
- You can submit a selection of four words; incorrect guesses use one of your mistakes.
- The daily puzzle has one intended solution, even when individual words appear to support competing categories.
Where to play puzzle #632
Connections is available through the Games app, the New York Times Games site, nytimes.com/theathletic and the News app. The daily game releases at midnight in the player’s local time zone.
For an older puzzle such as #632, the Connections archive reaches back to June 12, 2023 and is available to eligible All Access and Games subscribers under the New York Times’ current access rules. Archive play requires an NYT account to save progress. Archived puzzles can affect your statistics but do not count toward your streak, and a completed archived puzzle cannot be replayed. Subscription and archive terms can change, so check the current NYT guidance when accessing it.
