How the game works
Connections presents 16 words to arrange into four groups of four based on a shared link. You can shuffle the grid while looking for patterns, but four incorrect guesses end the game. The colors mark the groups; Forbes describes yellow as usually easiest and purple as usually most difficult, with purple often relying on wordplay. Those are general tendencies, not guarantees about every puzzle.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the purple group fits
Each word in the purple set can come before “room” in a term for a lavatory: bath, powder, rest, and throne. The shared word comes after each entry, rather than appearing among the four grid words.
