Stop here if you still want to solve the board yourself.
- LOVING: KIND, SWEET, TENDER, WARM
- APPENDAGES: ARM, FIN, FLIPPER, WING
- POPCORN-MAKING METHODS: KETTLE, MICROWAVE, POPPER, STOVETOP
- SQUANDER, WITH “AWAY”: FIDDLE, FRITTER, THROW, TRIFLE
For the popcorn group, the answer is POPPER. TechRadar’s word list and answer key support that spelling; Parade’s corresponding list prints “PEPPER,” which appears to be a transcription error.

Why the date includes the year
“Saturday, September 27” refers to the 2025 puzzle, not a recurring daily answer. Connections gets a new board at midnight in each time zone, so the date alone can be ambiguous in an archive. The puzzle guides identify this board as #839.
