Why the purple group fits
Each word can be completed with a playing-card term: BOJACK ends in JACK, HAWKING in KING, LOVELACE in ACE, and MCQUEEN in QUEEN. The trick is to spot those endings rather than look for four people from one shared field.
How Connections works
Connections gives players 16 words and asks them to sort them into four groups of four based on a shared link. The colors mark ascending difficulty: yellow is easiest and purple is trickiest. The New York Times says each puzzle has exactly one solution, even though some words may appear to fit more than one category.
