Hints for February 11’s puzzle
Connections gives you 16 words to sort into four groups of four. The NYT says each group shares something in common, and that words may appear to fit multiple categories. Sports Edition follows the same rules as the regular game and is brought to solvers by The Athletic. NYT Help Center: Connections; NYT Help Center: Connections: Sports Edition.
- First nudge: Look for places you might identify on a basketball court.
- Second nudge: Another group consists of expressions for an extremely small margin or amount of time.
- Third nudge: One set names ways a game can begin; another contains characters from a television comedy about football.

Why the puzzle number is disputed
The assigned title’s February 11/#141 pairing does not match the available historical listings. The Sports Edition archive identifies February 11, 2025, as #147 and February 5 as #141; a community discussion headed Tuesday, February 11, 2025, also calls it #147. Some syndicated answer-guide results repeat the #141 pairing, but that does not resolve the conflict. The number #147 is therefore the best-supported label for February 11, while the archived group answers should be treated as archive-reported rather than directly verified against the NYT board. Where to play Sports Edition
The NYT Help Center says the daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone. It lists the web, Games app, News app, and The Athletic app as ways to access Connections: Sports Edition.
