Gentle hints for Connections #675
Stop at any stage if you want to keep solving.
Stage one: broad clues
- Four items are things you might see in a particular stage performance.
- Four words can mean to mark, scratch or damage a surface.
- Four answers are associated with a loud, powerful sound.
- Four answers become Latin dance names after a vowel is changed.
Stage two: more explicit clues
- Think “cabaret garms.”
- Think “deface with a nail.”
- Think “a sound in common.”
- Think “cut a rug,” with altered vowels.

Latin dances with a vowel changed
MAMBA changes the final vowel of mambo, SIMBA changes samba, and TANGY changes tango. MERINGUE is the altered form of merengue.

How the Connections game works
