Try these in order to preserve as much of the solve as you like. The first hint points to the theme without giving away the answers; the letter pairs offer a stronger nudge.
- Theme: “See you on the court.” Think of a sport played across a net.
- Additional clue: Familiar terms for Roger and Serena.
- Starting letters: The answer list begins LO, SM, RA, GR, FO, SL, SE, and VO.
Spangram for August 26, 2024
Spoiler: The spangram is GRAND SLAM. TechRadar’s guide also offered “Open secret” as a clue for it and reported that it touches the left side of the board on row four and the right side on row five.

How Strands hints work
Forbes describes Strands as a word search on a six-by-eight grid: find words tied to the theme, then use the spangram to express the shared connection. Its guide says letters can connect horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, and a word’s path can change direction. Each letter is used once across the theme words and spangram.
According to that guide, finding three valid words of at least four letters that are not theme answers earns an in-game hint, which highlights the letters of a theme word.
