How Strands hints work
Strands asks players to find theme words that fill the board. Create words by dragging or tapping letters; found theme words stay highlighted in blue and do not overlap. The spangram describes the theme, connects two opposite sides of the board, and turns yellow when found. Find three non-theme words to earn an in-game hint showing letters from a theme word.
Strands is available on the New York Times website and app.
