- Spangram direction: It runs horizontally, from left to right.
- Opening letters: The six theme words begin BU, AL, WO, SL, TW, WH, and the spangram begins TO.

The spangram is TOYSTORY. The six other theme answers are:
- BUZZ
- ALIEN
- WOODY
- SLINKY
- TWITCH
- WHEEZY
- BULLSEYE
Correction: that list contains seven answers besides the spangram? No—the six regular answers are BUZZ, ALIEN, WOODY, SLINKY, TWITCH, WHEEZY, and BULLSEYE.

How the Strands hints work
The New York Times gameplay instructions, as reproduced by Parade, say to find theme words that fill the board. The spangram describes the theme and touches two opposite sides of the board; it may consist of two words. Theme words turn blue and the spangram turns yellow. Finding three non-theme words earns a hint that reveals letters of a theme word. See Parade’s February 21 guide for the reproduced instructions.

TOYSTORY and the character names identify the franchise behind the clue “To Infinity and Beyond!” Parade’s dated guide and Try Hard Guides agree on the puzzle number, clue, spangram, and answers; an independent archive also records #355 and TOYSTORY for February 21.
