O produtor, que entrou na Koei nos anos 1990, trabalhou como planejador em Dynasty Warriors 2 e mais tarde assumiu a produção da série, descreveu o trabalho no terceiro jogo como tão próximo de refazê-lo que se perguntou por que estava refazendo algo que ele próprio havia criado.
Na tradução automática citada pelo VGC, Sho disse que, se o remaster de Dynasty Warriors 3 for bem, “acho que as chances de remasterizar o 4 e os seguintes vão aumentar”. Na mesma passagem, ressalvou que não gostaria de fazer isso pessoalmente: o trabalho seria quase um remake completo. Ele acrescentou que, na casa dos 50 anos, pensa em quantos jogos ainda poderá fazer antes de se aposentar e prefere criar jogos novos ou sequências. VGC

A declaração não confirma um remaster de Dynasty Warriors 4 ou dos jogos posteriores, mas também não diz que eles foram descartados. Por que outro remaster seria um trabalho tão grande
Sho descreveu a tarefa como algo que exigiu anos e que, na prática, se aproximou de refazer o jogo. A AUTOMATON WEST também caracterizou o projeto como próximo de uma reconstrução: segundo a publicação, a equipe usou gráficos e modelos de personagens em UE5, ampliou mecânicas de combate, adicionou síntese de armas e planejou suporte online para os modos de dois jogadores. Esses detalhes ajudam a explicar a relutância de Sho em liderar outro projeto semelhante, mas não significam que toda futura remasterização teria necessariamente o mesmo escopo. AUTOMATON WEST
O que se sabe sobre Dynasty Warriors 5 e Origins 2
Em entrevista publicada pela Respec em 21 de setembro de 2026, Sho disse que pedidos de jogadores influenciaram a escolha de Dynasty Warriors 3, após ele considerar por cerca de dez anos a ideia de remasterizar a série. Segundo ele, DW3 oferece uma base útil para representar os sistemas da franquia em jogos futuros. Os pedidos que chegavam dos fãs frequentemente citavam tanto DW3 quanto Dynasty Warriors 5.

Sho disse que as perspectivas de um remaster de DW5 dependeriam do desempenho de DW3. Quando perguntado sobre a possibilidade de fazer tanto esse remaster quanto Dynasty Warriors Origins 2, afirmou que preferiria começar por Origins 2, caso ambos pudessem ser produzidos. A data e as plataformas são as reportadas pela publicação. O lançamento é o ponto de partida para a condição mencionada por Sho, mas as fontes citadas não trazem números de vendas nem uma avaliação da editora sobre o desempenho comercial.

Desempenho informado para as plataformas
Na entrevista à Respec, Sho afirmou que a maioria das outras plataformas roda a 60 quadros por segundo. Para o Switch 2, disse que a taxa varia entre 30 e 60 FPS e fica acima de 40 na maior parte do tempo; no modo de tela dividida do Switch 2, é de 30 FPS.
