OBS Settings for a 1080p Hindi Playlist Stream on JioFiber

Start with OBS at 1080p30, H.264, CBR, RTMPS, and a 2-second keyframe interval—then set bitrate from measured JioFiber upload and test stream health.

For a mostly low-motion Hindi playlist on YouTube Live, start in OBS at 1920×1080, 30 fps, H.264, CBR, RTMPS, and a 2-second keyframe interval. For H.264 at 1080p30, YouTube lists 5 Mbps as the minimum and 14 Mbps as the recommended bitrate. Your usable setting depends on sustained upload at the streaming location and your computer’s encoding capacity—not the JioFiber name or advertised plan speed alone.

Recommended starting settings

Setting Starting point Why it matters
Resolution and frame rate 1920×1080 at 30 fps A practical initial choice for mostly still artwork, lyrics, or other low-motion playlist visuals. It reduces encoding and upload demands compared with 60 fps; it is not a tested prescription for every playlist.
Video codec H.264 Use the codec-specific YouTube bitrate guidance below.
Rate control CBR YouTube’s listed H.264 live profile specifies constant bitrate.
Keyframe interval 2 seconds YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds.
Ingest protocol RTMPS YouTube supports RTMP/RTMPS and recommends RTMPS.
Audio AAC YouTube’s listed H.264 profile specifies AAC audio.

These are YouTube-oriented starting settings, not a guarantee that a particular PC or JioFiber connection can sustain the stream. YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance gives these H.264 bitrate figures:

YouTube H.264 output Minimum bitrate Recommended bitrate
1080p30 5 Mbps 14 Mbps
1080p60 6 Mbps 17 Mbps

These are platform ingest values. Treat 14 Mbps as YouTube’s recommendation for H.264 1080p30, not as a speed JioFiber guarantees or a bitrate every home connection can hold.

Choose 30 fps or 60 fps for the playlist

Use 1080p30 as the first test for mostly still visuals

If the playlist is mainly a static image, lyrics, or slowly changing artwork, 30 fps is a sensible first profile. The lower frame rate reduces the workload relative to 60 fps. This is a practical inference from the content and the distinct YouTube bitrate ranges, not a measured result for your stream.

  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Test 1080p60 when motion justifies it

For frequent or fast motion, test both frame rates with representative playlist material. YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate rises from 14 Mbps at 1080p30 to 17 Mbps at 1080p60. Also consider whether your computer can encode continuously and whether your measured upload has enough headroom. Choose based on stream health and the visual result, not resolution alone.

Measure JioFiber upload before setting bitrate

There is no single JioFiber upload figure established here for every plan, location, or time of day. A plan’s advertised rate does not establish the sustained upload available to the streaming PC. Measure from the actual streaming location, ideally at a representative busy time and over the same network path you will use live. YouTube says, “We recommend running a speed test to test your upload bitrate.”

  • Use sustained upload as the constraint, not a brief peak result.
  • Leave room for bitrate variation, audio, network overhead, and other household use rather than setting OBS equal to the measured maximum.
  • Run a preflight stream with representative audio and motion, then inspect YouTube stream health.

Set a bitrate that the connection can sustain with headroom. If upload is inconsistent, lowering bitrate is usually the first adjustment to test; if the picture is unsatisfactory at the resulting bitrate, consider whether 1080p is viable under the measured conditions.

Configure OBS and connect it to YouTube

  1. Get an initial recommendation: In OBS, open Tools → Auto-Configuration Wizard and use its hardware-aware recommendation as a starting point. OBS notes that suitable settings vary by setup and use case.
  2. Set the output profile: In OBS streaming output settings, choose H.264, CBR, and RTMPS. Set the bitrate only after measuring sustained upload; use YouTube’s H.264 values as platform guidance, not as a substitute for that measurement.
  3. Set video and keyframes: Configure 1920×1080 at 30 fps and a 2-second keyframe interval. If testing 60 fps, use the corresponding 1080p60 YouTube bitrate guidance and verify that the PC and connection handle it.
  4. Set audio: Use AAC for the YouTube H.264 profile, and include the actual playlist audio in the test.
  5. Create or select a YouTube broadcast: In YouTube Live Control Room, choose or create the broadcast, then connect OBS using YouTube’s current integration or stream-key workflow. Follow the current on-screen prompts for the key; do not expose the stream key publicly.
  6. Test before relying on the stream: Run a private or otherwise audience-free test with representative playlist content. Check YouTube stream health and OBS for dropped frames or encoding overload. Adjust one cause at a time and test again.

The OBS community walkthrough, How to stream to YouTube with OBS Studio, was last updated October 8, 2021, so use it only as supplementary workflow guidance; interface labels may have changed. OBS also publishes x264 streaming guidance. It gives 5,000–8,000 Kbps at 1920×1080, 30 fps as an OBS-authored starting range for the x264 veryfast preset and low-to-medium motion. That range is not YouTube’s current platform recommendation and does not determine the right bitrate for your connection. OBS’s point is apt: “There is no such thing as "best settings".”

Troubleshoot dropped frames and poor stream health

  • Dropped frames or unstable connection: The upload path may not sustain the configured bitrate, or other network use may be competing for capacity. Measure again under representative conditions, reduce bitrate, and repeat the test while monitoring YouTube stream health.
  • Encoding overload in OBS: The PC may not be able to encode the selected settings continuously. Try 30 fps instead of 60, lower resolution, or reduce encoder load; then test with the same representative playlist segment.
  • Blurry or blocky motion: Compare 30 and 60 fps using representative content, but account for the higher recommended upload at 60 fps. Motion, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and encoder preset all affect the result.
  • Settings look adequate but the live result is unreliable: A speed result alone cannot prove live stability. Run a preflight stream using the actual audio and motion, and inspect stream health before scheduling a long broadcast.
  • OBS does not connect to the broadcast: Recheck the current YouTube Live Control Room connection flow and stream-key setup. If a key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube and update OBS rather than continuing with a compromised key.

Copyright and playlist checks before going live

A playlist being pre-recorded does not by itself establish that you have permission to stream its music, lyrics, artwork, or other material. Confirm that you have the rights or applicable permissions for the content before broadcasting, and check YouTube’s current policies and notices in Live Control Room. A successful technical test does not establish that a stream is rights-cleared or eligible for monetization.
