For one Malayalam devotional video, add it to OBS as a Media Source, enable Loop, and stream with a conservative 720p30 H.264 profile: CBR at 3 Mbps to start, a 2-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. For several videos, use a VLC Video source with a playlist. The language and devotional subject do not change OBS or YouTube’s encoder settings; choose settings for your resolution, computer, and upload connection.
Set up a video that repeats in OBS
Loop one file with Media Source
- Create or select a scene in OBS.
- In the Sources panel, choose + → Media Source, then create a source or select an existing one.
- Choose the local video file and enable Loop in the source properties. OBS restarts the file after playback completes.
- Confirm the source is visible in the scene and that its audio appears in the audio mixer.
If playback stops at the end, reopen the Media Source properties and check that Loop is enabled. See the OBS Media Sources guide.
Rotate several files with VLC Video
- Install VLC. If you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC.
- In the Sources panel, choose + → VLC Video and add the video files to its playlist.
- Check that Loop Playlist is enabled; OBS says it is on by default.
- Keep the source visible when you want it to play. OBS documents that VLC Video stops when it is not visible and starts again when it becomes visible.
Use Media Source for a single clip; choose VLC Video when you want a playlist to cycle through multiple files. OBS documents these source behaviors in its Media Sources guide.
Use a stable starting profile for YouTube Live
For a static landscape devotional loop, start at 1280×720, 30 fps, H.264, and CBR. The bitrate depends on the upload connection: YouTube’s current live-encoder guidance lists 3 Mbps as the minimum and 8 Mbps as the recommended H.264 bitrate for 720p30. Start conservatively if your connection is uncertain, then use stream-health feedback to decide whether to adjust. These settings are recommendations, not a guarantee of smooth performance on every computer or network.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Setting | Starting value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Canvas and output resolution | 1280×720 (720p), landscape | Choose an output resolution your computer and upload connection can sustain. |
| Frame rate | 30 fps | 60 fps can demand more from the computer; a static loop does not by itself require a higher frame rate. |
| Encoder | H.264 | YouTube’s cited bitrate guidance below is for H.264 live ingest. |
| Rate control | CBR | Use constant bitrate for the recommended starting profile. |
| Video bitrate | 3 Mbps minimum; 8 Mbps recommended for 720p30 H.264 | YouTube lists both figures in its current encoder guidance. Use a bitrate your upload can sustain. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends 2 seconds and says not to exceed 4 seconds. |
| Audio | AAC stereo, 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz | YouTube’s guidance lists 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz for stereo audio. |
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS, when available | YouTube recommends RTMPS when it is available. |
These values come from YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance. YouTube transcodes live streams into different output formats, so a higher input resolution or bitrate does not guarantee a better viewing experience if your computer or connection cannot sustain it.
Enter the stream key and configure OBS
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Select YouTube as the service and enter the stream key from YouTube’s Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password: do not show or share it.
- Open Settings → Output. Set the encoder to H.264, rate control to CBR, video bitrate to your chosen value, and keyframe interval to 2 seconds. Set audio to AAC stereo at 128 kbps.
- Open Settings → Video. Set the output resolution to 1280×720 and frame rate to 30 fps for the starting profile. Check the canvas resolution and make sure your video fits the scene as intended.
- Return to the scene, verify that the video is visible and the audio mixer is active, then run a test stream and check YouTube’s stream-health feedback before broadcasting to viewers.
OBS places stream service and key under Settings → Stream, bitrate under Settings → Output, and output resolution and frame rate under Settings → Video. Its overview of OBS Studio recommends testing before a first live stream. YouTube also recommends testing with representative audio and motion; use the same content and settings you plan to broadcast.

Match the stream to your connection and computer
- If you have a reliable upload connection: You can work toward YouTube’s recommended 8 Mbps for 720p30 H.264, provided OBS and the network remain stable.
- If upload capacity is uncertain: Begin at 3 Mbps, YouTube’s listed minimum for this profile, and check stream health. A bitrate below the recommended value may reduce the quality viewers receive.
- If you want a higher resolution or frame rate: Recheck YouTube’s current ingest table and whether your computer and connection can maintain the higher demand. Do not assume that raising settings improves a stream if it causes instability.
- If frames are dropping: Lower the video bitrate and test again. OBS identifies an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain as possible causes. A wired Ethernet connection is worth considering if available, but it cannot guarantee a fix for bandwidth or ISP problems.
YouTube’s cited recommendations are platform guidance, not a performance promise for a particular OBS version, device, or internet service. See OBS guidance on dropped frames and YouTube’s encoder settings.
Check rights before streaming devotional material
A devotional theme or Malayalam language does not establish that you have permission to stream a particular song recording, performance, image, or video. Use material you own or are licensed to broadcast, and confirm the applicable rights before going live. The encoder settings cannot determine whether a work is cleared for livestreaming, and permission to use one version does not necessarily cover another recording or visual.

Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | What to check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The video stops after one play | Media Source’s Loop option | Enable Loop in the source properties. |
| A playlist does not keep cycling | VLC Video’s Loop Playlist option | Enable the option and confirm the files are in the playlist. |
| The VLC source stops or restarts unexpectedly | Whether the VLC Video source is visible in the active scene | OBS documents that VLC stops while not visible and restarts when visible. Keep it visible during playback. |
| YouTube reports poor stream health or viewers see dropped frames | Whether the upload can sustain the selected bitrate | Lower the video bitrate, test again, and use YouTube’s stream-health feedback. Consider a wired connection if available, without assuming it will solve an ISP or capacity issue. |
| There is no sound | The source’s audio and OBS audio mixer | Confirm the media includes audio, the source is not muted, and the mixer meter responds during playback. |
