For a pre-recorded Tamil song playlist with a static image or simple visualizer, start with OBS at 1080p30, H.264, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and stereo AAC audio. Use YouTube’s recommended 14 Mbps video bitrate only if your upload connection can sustain it; otherwise test at 720p30, for which YouTube recommends 8 Mbps. Before going live, confirm you have the necessary rights to stream every recording and composition: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt a match.
Recommended OBS settings for a Tamil music playlist
This starting point suits a mostly static album image, lyrics graphic, or low-motion visualizer. It is a practical setup based on YouTube’s published encoder guidance, not a guarantee for every computer, connection, or source file.

YouTube’s H.264 bitrate figures are platform guidance, not a promise of uninterrupted delivery. OBS notes that low-motion video can work at a lower bitrate than high-motion footage, but a static image does not make an unstable upload connection reliable. Test the actual stream and lower the output to 720p30 if the selected bitrate produces instability.
Set up OBS and connect it to YouTube
- Prepare the playlist. Put the video files in the intended order and check that each has the correct audio and visual. OBS can play media sources, but the exact looping arrangement depends on how you build the scene and sources. Test that the playlist advances and repeats as intended before scheduling or announcing a long broadcast.
- Set the video output. In OBS, open Settings → Video and set the output resolution and common FPS value to the target you plan to stream, such as 1920 × 1080 and 30 fps. The names of individual fields can vary by OBS version.
- Set the encoder. Open Settings → Output, select the streaming output mode and an H.264 encoder, then set rate control to CBR, the video bitrate to the value selected for your resolution, and the keyframe interval to 2 seconds. Encoder labels and available hardware choices vary by computer; use an H.264 option that your system supports.
- Set audio. In OBS’s audio output settings, use AAC stereo at 128 Kbps where those controls are available. Confirm the playlist source is routed to the stream mix and that its levels do not clip.
- Connect the YouTube stream. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the live stream and copy its stream key. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and connect the account or enter the stream key using the available option. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube before streaming.
- Test before the public broadcast. Start an unannounced or appropriately scheduled test with the same audio and visual movement you intend to use. Check the audio, sync, stream-health indicators, and that the media playlist behaves as expected. YouTube recommends testing with similar audio and movement and monitoring stream health during the event.
YouTube recommends RTMP or RTMPS ingestion. Its Live Control Room detects encoder settings and transcodes live streams into multiple output formats; that does not remove the need to send a stable signal at the settings you chose.

Choose between 1080p30 and 720p30

Pick based on the source resolution, how legible the artwork or text needs to be, and whether a representative test remains healthy. A higher resolution will not solve a rights problem or compensate for an unreliable connection. YouTube’s live encoder recommendations are available in its live encoder settings guidance.
Clear music rights before streaming
Having a song file on your computer, buying it, or seeing it described as “free” does not by itself establish the rights to broadcast it. YouTube’s livestream terms say the person providing the live content represents that they have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other rights participants.

- Check rights for both the specific sound recording and the underlying composition.
- Confirm the license covers the territories where viewers may watch, the live broadcast, and any archived replay you intend to keep available.
- Ask the rights owner whether your channel must be allowlisted through Content ID. YouTube says a licensed third-party stream may still be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted.
- Keep permission and license records accessible in case a claim or interruption occurs.
YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A warning may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the matched content remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the broadcast. YouTube describes public-domain music and music used with permission as copyright-safe categories, but “free” labeling does not prevent a Content ID match. Its Creator Music usage details vary by track; the guidance states that revenue-sharing tracks from Creator Music cannot be used in live streams, so that catalog is not a blanket clearance route for a live song playlist.
Troubleshoot dropped frames, unstable video, and audio
- OBS Dropped Frames rises; connection indicator turns yellow or red: OBS says this means the connection to the streaming service is unstable or cannot keep up with the chosen bitrate. Check upload performance, pause other traffic using the connection, and reduce the bitrate or resolution if needed. If the issue is local Wi-Fi instability and both computer and router support wired networking, Ethernet may help; it cannot increase your ISP’s upload capacity. See OBS’s dropped-frames guidance.
- 1080p30 is not stable: Test at 720p30 and use a bitrate that stays healthy. Do not assume that a speed-test result alone proves the connection can sustain a continuous stream under normal household or office traffic.
- Audio clips, is out of sync, or is missing: Check the source routing and mixer levels in OBS, then test with the same files and scene planned for the live stream. Correct the source or sync issue before the public broadcast rather than relying on viewers to report it.
- YouTube warns about third-party content or replaces the stream: Stop or resolve the matched content rather than repeatedly restarting with the same uncleared playlist. Confirm the relevant recording and composition permissions and whether the channel needs Content ID allowlisting with the rights owner.
- The playlist does not advance or loop as intended: Recheck the media-source and scene arrangement, then run a longer test that covers the end of a track and the transition to the next item. A successful short test may not reveal an end-of-playlist or repeat behavior issue.
