The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is listed for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. Best Buy says nearly all of its U.S. stores will open for the launch, with limited event quantities—but the announcement does not make this a guaranteed final chance to buy the game.
When Best Buy’s midnight launch starts
Best Buy announced that nearly all U.S. stores will open at midnight Eastern Time on November 5, 2026. That is late on November 4 in the western time zones:

These are the times Best Buy listed; verify the event with the specific store before traveling because the retailer says “nearly all,” not all, locations are participating. Best Buy’s October 8, 2026 announcement says launch-night quantities of the game and Zelda 40th Anniversary hardware will be limited.
How to try to get a copy
Reserve for store pickup
Best Buy says preorders are available in stores, online, or through its app. Customers with a pickup preorder can collect during the late-night opening. The retailer says customers will receive an email with the option to switch to store pickup. Check the order details and the chosen store’s listing for the applicable pickup instructions.

Attend without a preorder
A walk-in may be able to buy from launch-night stock, but Best Buy has not promised that any particular store will have a copy available when you arrive. Its limited-quantity notice applies to event inventory; it does not establish a nationwide sellout or mean this is the last opportunity to purchase the game.
What “while supplies last” means for the physical edition
Nintendo says the first print run of the physical game has textured foil cover art and that this packaging is available while supplies last. That qualification concerns the special first-run packaging, not a confirmed shortage of the game itself. Nintendo lists a physical edition, but the cited listings do not establish current stock or pricing at any retailer. See Nintendo’s physical-edition listing for the product and release date.

What Nintendo says is new in this Switch 2 version
Nintendo describes the release as rebuilt with overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, and reworked camera and movement controls. Those are the publisher’s descriptions, not independently tested findings. The U.S. digital listing calls it a Switch 2 exclusive and a single-player game, and lists handheld, tabletop, and TV play. Nintendo estimates the digital download at 27 GB; that estimate is for the digital listing and should not be treated as a claim about physical-cartridge contents. The game is listed separately from the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 system. Best Buy says it will have limited launch-night quantities of that system and a matching Pro Controller, but neither is required to play if you already have a Switch 2.

Nintendo also says existing Zelda-series amiibo can provide in-game extras. Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo announced for 2027 will unlock masks that evoke a retro graphical style; Nintendo’s announcement does not present those figures as launch-day products. The game will support ZELDA NOTES through the Nintendo Switch App on compatible smart devices, with announced features including adventure tracking, image-based location challenges, a virtual ocarina, and a daily quiz.
