The original new listing is marked unavailable; a refurbished listing was showing £824.99 when checked for this article, so its value depends on current stock, price, condition and warranty.
What the OcUK Gaming Mach 1 was built to do
Sold and built by Overclockers UK, the Mach 1 is a prebuilt desktop for buyers who want a complete Windows gaming PC rather than a parts list to assemble. Its natural target is Full HD (1080p): the RTX 4060 is a sensible match for that resolution, while 1440p requires more settings compromises and 4K is not a realistic primary target for this configuration.
The original product page describes a tested system with Windows 11 Home, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Its broad appeal is convenience for first-time PC gamers, console converts, students and families—not a promise that every demanding game will run at maximum detail.

OcUK’s Good To Go listing describes the board generically as an AM4 Wi-Fi Micro-ATX motherboard and says its pictures are illustrative. What gaming performance to expect
There is no single FPS figure that describes every game. Performance changes with the game and patch, graphics preset, scene, driver, resolution and any upscaling or ray-tracing settings. The useful expectation is a strong 1080p starting point, with choices to make in newer, more demanding games.
Esports and lighter games
Competitive and well-optimised games can run at high frame rates, depending on settings and the game engine. The original OcUK page promoted more than 440 FPS in Rocket League and more than 270 FPS in League of Legends. Those are seller-advertised figures, not a guarantee for every match or a current independent test. A high-refresh monitor is needed to see the benefit of frame rates above its refresh rate.

Older and demanding AAA games
Older or well-optimised AAA titles can often be played at high settings at 1080p. Newer demanding releases may call for medium or high settings, reduced texture quality, or other adjustments. The RTX 4060 supports hardware ray tracing and DLSS in compatible games. Ray tracing can sharply increase the graphics load, so players may need to lower other settings or use DLSS; the preferred balance between image quality, smoothness and latency varies by game. At 1440p, expect to tune settings rather than assume maximum quality. This system is not a sensible 4K-first purchase.
The RTX 4060’s 8GB of video memory can become a constraint in some newer games, particularly with high-resolution textures and ray tracing. That makes “stress-free AAA gaming” too broad if it suggests every new game runs at ultra quality. “1080p gaming with sensible settings” is the more accurate promise.

What “stress-free” does—and does not—cover
A prebuilt removes several jobs from the buyer: selecting compatible parts, fitting the CPU, cooler, memory, SSD and graphics card, managing cables, and diagnosing an assembly-related failure to POST. The original offer was described as built and tested, and Windows 11 Home was included. One vendor also handles system-level support under the terms attached to the specific sale.
It is not a zero-setup appliance. After delivery, the owner still needs to connect peripherals, complete Windows setup, install game launchers, check Windows and graphics-driver updates, and choose appropriate graphics settings. Review preinstalled software and remove anything unwanted. Connect the monitor to the RTX 4060’s video output rather than the motherboard’s display outputs, or the system may not use the graphics card for the display.

Where the compromises matter
Ryzen 5 5600 and AM4
Six cores and twelve threads remain a reasonable gaming and everyday multitasking baseline, particularly at 1080p with this graphics card. CPU-heavy simulation games, very high-refresh competitive play, streaming and heavier background workloads can make the processor’s age more noticeable. AM4 and DDR4 also offer less upgrade runway than a newer AM5/DDR5 platform. Adequate for its intended use does not mean future-proof.

A CPU upgrade depends on the exact motherboard, BIOS support and whether the upgrade is cost-effective. Do not assume a particular processor will work without checking those details.
16GB memory
The two 8GB modules provide dual-channel operation and make 16GB a usable starting point for gaming and ordinary background tasks. Moving to 32GB can make sense for heavy multitasking, mods, streaming or longer-term ownership. Confirm the exact board and available DIMM slots before buying memory; the four-slot claim in older coverage is not established for every listed unit.
1TB storage
One terabyte is a reasonable starting capacity, but several large modern games can use it quickly. Keep free space for updates and normal SSD operation; roughly 10–20% free is a practical target where possible. The original listing confirms 1TB NVMe storage but not a consistent SSD model or expansion layout across all units. Check for a free M.2 slot or consider whether a 2.5-inch SATA SSD is a better addition.

Cooling, power and upgrades
The stock cooler and budget-oriented power supply are adequate as listed, but they are not reasons to expect a particularly quiet system or a broad graphics-card upgrade path. Before changing the GPU, check the specific PSU’s connectors and capacity, case clearance, motherboard compatibility and warranty terms. Consider improved cooling if temperatures or noise are a problem, especially after changing components.

The original new Mach 1 page now says the product is no longer available. Its £749.99 including VAT price and three-year parts-and-labour warranty are historical, not a current offer. A separate refurbished listing showed £824.99 including VAT and stock when captured for this article. Its page states a one-year collect-and-return warranty for mainland UK buyers and a 30-day return and refund period; buyers outside mainland UK should check the listed return-to-base terms. Price and stock can change, and this refurbished offer is not equivalent to the original new system. Warranty coverage, statutory consumer rights and a retailer’s stated return period are distinct. Read the terms for the unit and seller you are actually buying from, including coverage geography and the effect of upgrades or damage. Good To Go terms cannot be assumed to apply to refurbished stock, nor can a new-unit warranty be assumed for a used or refurbished machine.

Upgrade priorities
- Add storage if your game library is the first thing running out of room. Confirm available M.2 or SATA connections and the exact case and motherboard before ordering a drive.
- Move to 32GB RAM if your games, mods or simultaneous applications regularly use more than 16GB. Verify the memory type, speed and slot layout on your particular system.
- Upgrade the graphics card for the largest potential gaming-performance gain, but first check power requirements, connectors, card dimensions and warranty implications.
- Consider a CPU upgrade only for a workload that is CPU-limited, and only after confirming BIOS support and total cost against a newer platform.
- Improve cooling if measured temperatures or noise justify it; confirm cooler clearance and compatibility before replacing parts.
Who should consider the Mach 1?
- First-time PC gamers who want a complete, supported desktop rather than an assembly project.
- Players with a 1080p display who are comfortable adjusting settings in demanding games.
- Buyers for whom Windows, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in one ready-made system are useful.
- Anyone comparing a refurbished unit who has checked its exact condition, parts, current price and shorter warranty against alternatives.
Who should look elsewhere?
- Players whose priority is 1440p at maximum settings, 4K, or heavy ray tracing.
- Buyers who want a long platform upgrade path; a newer AM5/DDR5 prebuilt may be a better fit, though it could cost more or pair the platform with a less powerful GPU.
- People who need 32GB memory immediately or expect extensive upgrades without checking the actual board and power supply.
- Buyers outside the supported warranty geography who have not confirmed the return terms.
- Anyone considering a refurbished Mach 1 at a price that is not competitive with newer systems. A DIY build may offer different component choices or value during sales, but requires assembly and separate troubleshooting; a gaming laptop offers portability and built-in peripherals but is less upgradeable.
Verdict: a capable 1080p idea, but price decides
The Mach 1’s original Ryzen 5 5600 and RTX 4060 specification made sense as a convenient 1080p gaming desktop. The convenience is real, but it does not remove setup or per-game tuning, and it does not make the machine a universal ultra-settings AAA PC. At or below its historical £749.99 launch price, the original offer could have been compelling for a buyer who valued prebuilt support. At the captured £824.99 refurbished price, the shorter warranty and older platform make comparison with newer systems essential. Buy only if the live listing’s price, parts, condition and warranty justify it.
