Olympus 2249 is a single-player, turn-based cRPG set in post-nuclear dieselpunk America. It is a standalone game from Dieselship Studio, whose connection to the earlier Olympus 2207 Fallout 2 mod is described in secondary reporting. Steam lists an October 6, 2026 release date and Early Access status; because the available store capture also showed a not-yet-available message, check the live Steam listing for current purchase availability.
What is Olympus 2249?
Olympus 2249 is an isometric, single-player role-playing game with turn-based combat. Steam describes its setting as post-nuclear dieselpunk America and its story as one shaped by player choices, branching dialogue, and interactions with factions. Dieselship Studio is listed as both developer and publisher.
The game’s central character system is built around five Karmic Types. According to the store description, a character’s type—and later changes in karma—can influence how people respond, which dialogue and quests are available, and what opportunities arise. The listing also describes non-combat specializations that can open conversation options and alternative quest solutions.
How is it connected to Olympus 2207?
Steam does not describe the relationship between the two games. An October 5, 2026 report by iXBT identifies Dieselship Studio with Olympus 2207, a global mod built on the Fallout 2 engine, and characterizes Olympus 2249 as a new standalone game containing references for returning players. That reporting supports a connection and callbacks, not a claim that the new game is a direct continuation or requires either the mod or Fallout 2.

What does the Early Access version include?
Dieselship Studio’s Steam Early Access Q&A says the build contains the planned systems and mechanics and the first of three intended story acts. The developer estimates it represents about a quarter of the story and offers roughly 3–7 hours of play, depending on build, playstyle, and side quests. These are studio estimates, not guaranteed completion times.
The studio expects Early Access to last roughly 18–24 months, while noting that timing may change with development and player feedback. Its stated plans include adding locations, factions, quests, characters, and items, as well as balance and quality-of-life changes. It also says the price is planned to rise gradually as content is added.

How do combat and exploration work?
Turn-based combat
Steam’s description emphasizes tactical positioning and environmental interactions. Listed options include using fuel barrels, oil spills, electricity, and traps; aiming attacks; and spending stamina on abilities. The store also describes armor, dismemberment, hazardous environments, and procedural enemies and loot in some encounters. These are developer descriptions, not independently verified gameplay findings.
Dialogue-led navigation
iXBT’s October 5 report, drawing on a developer video diary, says the game avoids yellow-painted navigation cues and glowing trails. Instead, players are expected to listen to characters; conversation notes are saved in an organizer. The report also describes compact, often multi-level locations, city fast-travel points, hidden caches, and quest outcomes that can affect a character’s reputation or, in some cases, a faction’s standing. This is secondary reporting rather than hands-on verification.

Other systems
The store listing also mentions crafting, stealth, peaceful specializations, desert storms, day-and-night cycles, and hazardous environments. It says conversations may affect faction access and quests. Treat these as features described by the developer on Steam rather than an independent assessment of how they perform in play.
Is Olympus 2249 available on Steam?
Steam lists October 6, 2026 as the release date and identifies the game as Early Access. However, the captured listing also displayed a “not yet available” message and an unlock countdown, while an October 6 news report said the game had appeared on Steam. Those snapshots do not establish whether the store currently permits a purchase. Check the live Steam page for its present availability and price.

Steam lists interface and subtitle support in English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. It lists no full-audio language. The page also identifies single-player, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing support.

AI and mature-content notices
Steam’s AI disclosure says tools were used to check visual concepts, translate text into some languages, and create placeholder music. The developer says the materials are being significantly reworked by people, with plans to replace the placeholder music with original compositions and have translations reviewed by human editors by release.
The store’s mature-content notice cites frequent violence, blood and gore, visible injuries and dismemberment, crime, and other mature themes.
