Console players can join PC and mobile players through cross-play, and link accounts for cross-progression—with an important warning if both accounts already have characters.
When did Once Human come to console?
The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions launched on August 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. PT. The launch announcement listed North America, South America, Europe, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan among the supported regions. The game had previously been announced for consoles without a release date; a July 2026 announcement set the date, and the launch notices confirmed availability.
Which consoles support Once Human?
Once Human is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. It is free to download and play on both console families. NetEase described the launch build as offering six scenarios and more than 300 hours of gameplay; that is the publisher’s description of available content, not an independent estimate of playtime.
Does Once Human have cross-play and cross-progression?
Cross-play across PC, mobile, and console
Yes. Console players can add friends and play alongside players on PC and mobile, and PS5 and Xbox players can play together. This is subject to server region: players on different regional servers cannot play together or share data across those regions.

Linking an existing account
Existing PC or mobile players can link their account to continue with cross-progression. Take care if both the account you are linking and the console account already contain characters: linking can result in the characters on the account that is not retained being discarded. Decide which account and characters you want to keep before confirming the link.
Progress made in a console test does not transfer to the released version. Some test rewards may still be claimable under the official test-reward rules, but test character progress itself does not carry over.

Is Once Human free on PS5 and Xbox?
Yes. The official FAQ says the console version is free to play and that all game-mode content can be experienced for free. Paid options include cosmetics, the Battle Pass, and other content that the FAQ says does not affect gameplay fairness. A PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core subscription is not required to play online. Platform subscribers may receive additional cosmetics or other perks.
Console controls, perspective, and performance modes
Players can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time. NetEase says the console version has an optimized controller experience and advertises Quality Mode at 4K/60 FPS and Performance Mode at 120 FPS. These are publisher-stated mode targets; independent performance testing is not available here, and actual results may depend on the console and display.

On PS5, the launch announcement highlights DualSense adaptive-trigger support and tactile immersion. Xbox launch perks for Game Pass members include an avatar, a META PASS benefit card, discount vouchers, Battle Pass XP cards, and monthly outfit updates; eligibility and availability can depend on the applicable platform terms.
How much storage does the console download need?
The official FAQ lists an approximately 80 GB PlayStation client and an approximately 100 GB Xbox client. Those are approximate client sizes, not a guarantee of the final free space needed after updates. The FAQ also says partial downloads are supported.

Both console versions share the core cross-play, perspective, and account-linking features. The clearest stated differences are the approximate download size, PS5 DualSense integration, and the listed Xbox Game Pass launch perks.
