For a practical Once Human locations and items checklist, start with The Hidden Gaming Lair’s interactive map and choose the map or scenario you are exploring. Its publisher reports nine maps and 156,971 locations, with a page update date of October 6, 2026; those are database totals, not independently audited counts. Use the map’s filters to find relevant markers, then verify discoveries in-game. Marker availability varies by map, so no single checklist should be assumed to cover every location or item.
Start with an interactive map, then narrow the checklist
The Hidden Gaming Lair’s Once Human map is the broadest current map resource identified here. The publisher reports nine maps and 156,971 locations and lists an update date of October 6, 2026. Treat both figures as publisher-reported snapshots: locations and available markers can change as the game and map database are updated.
Rather than trying to track every pin, filter the map to match your current scenario and goal. A useful checklist separates three things: the map or scenario, the kind of location, and the item or collectible you want to find. Depending on the selected map and the tool, categories may include Mystical Crates, viewpoints, Hoard Crates, recipe or item markers, settlements, and other locations. Do not assume that every category appears on every map.
A simple checklist structure
- Map or scenario: Select the map that matches the area you are currently exploring.
- Location type: Filter for the landmark, settlement, or other place you want to visit.
- Item or collectible: Narrow to the relevant crate, recipe, or item marker.
- Discovery status: Mark a pin or record it separately after confirming the find in-game; checker and counter features differ by tool.
- Currency: Check the map’s update date before relying on it, especially if an older guide disagrees with the live game.
Find and track Mystical Crates
For Mystical Crate locations, The Hidden Gaming Lair’s dedicated guide reports 305 known crates across five maps and was last updated October 6, 2026. This is the publisher’s count of known entries at that date, not a guarantee that every crate is listed or that the total cannot change. Open the guide’s map for the area you are exploring and use its markers as a route-planning aid.

Keep Mystical Crates distinct from the Weapon and Gear Crates you encounter in settlements. According to the official Once Human Settlement Exploration Guide, each settlement has multiple Weapon and Gear Crates but only one Mysterious Treasure. That treasure can be obtained once and contains Blueprint Fragments for weapons or armor. The official guide uses “Mysterious Treasure,” while community maps and guides commonly use “Mystical Crate”; check the marker label and in-game object rather than treating all crate categories as interchangeable.
Use in-game tools to confirm discoveries
An interactive map can guide you toward a location, but the game’s own exploration tools help confirm nearby finds. The official settlement guide says to use Spacetime to locate nearby treasures and crates. It also says to activate the Rift Anchor after completing settlement objectives. These details come from a guide published May 20, 2024; if the current build uses different labels or mechanics, follow what the live game shows.

Which checklist tool should you use?
| Tool | Coverage and marker types | Tracking features | Currency |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Hidden Gaming Lair interactive map | Publisher reports nine maps and lists location markers; categories vary by map. | Use the map’s available markers and filters; the cited source does not establish a discovery counter for every map. | Page reports an update date of October 6, 2026. |
| The Hidden Gaming Lair Mystical Crate guide | Publisher reports 305 known Mystical Crates across five maps. | Crate locations are shown; a universal discovery counter is not established by the cited source. | Guide reports it was last updated October 6, 2026. |
| Game8 interactive map | Provides a collectible map and pin types. | Game8 describes a collectible checker with a counter for pin types. | Game8 ended Once Human coverage in December 2025; use it as a historical helper and verify against current sources or the game. |
The table summarizes what the cited resources establish, not a guarantee of exhaustive scenario or item coverage. In particular, a marker appearing on a map does not prove that every collectible of that type is represented.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Check update dates before following older guides
Map databases and guide pages are snapshots. A visible update date helps you judge recency, but it is not an independent completeness check. Game8’s map may still be useful if you want its pin-type counter, yet the site says it ended Once Human coverage in December 2025. If an older marker, label, or route conflicts with the live game or a more recently updated map, trust the current in-game information and cross-check the location before treating the checklist as complete.
