The OneXFly F1 Pro HX 370 is the faster handheld PC, but the Steam Deck OLED is the better all-round choice for most buyers. Valve’s device offers a simpler interface, better suspend/resume, strong battery efficiency, and a more established repair ecosystem. OneXPlayer’s premium Windows handheld is the better fit for demanding games, Game Pass, multiple launchers, desktop work, emulation, and higher-refresh 1080p gaming.

This comparison covers the OneXFly F1 Pro with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 32GB RAM, and 1TB storage against the Steam Deck OLED. The F1 Pro name also covers lower-spec Ryzen AI 9 HX 365 and Ryzen 7 8840U configurations, which should not be assumed to perform like the HX 370 model.

Performance: the OneXFly wins clearly

The HX 370 F1 Pro belongs to a higher performance class. Its 12-core/24-thread Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Radeon 890M graphics have substantially more CPU and GPU headroom than the Steam Deck OLED’s four-core APU and eight RDNA 2 compute units.

That does not mean every game will run proportionally faster. Results depend on the selected power limit, cooling, drivers, game engine, resolution, upscaling, and whether frame generation is enabled. A 30W F1 Pro result is not a fair comparison with a 15W result, and generated frames should not be presented as equivalent to native-rendered frames.

In testing reported by PC Gamer, the HX 370 produced approximately 43–52fps in Star Wars Outlaws at upscaled 1080p with upscaling and frame generation in the review’s settings. That is a review-specific result, not a universal performance guarantee. PC Gamer also found the HX 370 unusually capable at 15W, although some games showed only modest gains over other modern integrated graphics.

The Steam Deck OLED is not a performance upgrade over the LCD Deck. Its lower 1280×800 target is easier for the APU to drive, which helps it deliver a more consistent low-power experience. For demanding games, however, the F1 Pro has the higher ceiling and is the better choice for higher frame rates, sharper output, and more aggressive graphics settings.

Display: sharper on the F1 Pro, more efficient and brighter on the Deck

The F1 Pro’s 1080p OLED panel has higher pixel density and a 144Hz refresh rate. That is useful for desktop work, older games, esports titles, and anything the APU can run at high frame rates. It is not proof that demanding AAA games will reach 144fps; many will need reduced settings, upscaling, or frame generation.

The Steam Deck OLED has the larger 7.4-inch screen, HDR support, and a claimed 1,000-nit peak brightness. Its 1280×800 resolution looks less sharp for Windows-style desktop work but reduces GPU load and suits the Deck’s hardware. The 90Hz refresh rate is also sufficient for most games designed around the device.

  • F1 Pro advantages: 1080p sharpness, 144Hz refresh rate, and better suitability for desktop text and high-frame-rate games.
  • Deck advantages: larger panel, HDR OLED presentation, higher claimed peak brightness, and a resolution its APU can drive more efficiently.

Battery life: choose the Steam Deck OLED

Valve rates the Steam Deck OLED for approximately 3–12 hours depending on the game and settings, using a 50Wh battery. That is a manufacturer estimate rather than a universal runtime, but the Deck benefits from its efficient 6nm APU, lower display resolution, and SteamOS power management.

The F1 Pro’s battery is slightly smaller at 48.5Wh, while its HX 370 platform and 1080p/144Hz display can consume substantially more power. PC Gamer identified battery life as a major weakness and reported that demanding play could produce roughly one hour and 40 minutes in its testing context. That figure should not be treated as a guaranteed runtime, but it illustrates the trade-off: the F1 Pro’s performance advantage is most useful near a charger.

Lowering the F1 Pro’s power limit to around 15W can improve endurance and narrow the performance gap, but the result varies by game. Brightness, refresh rate, fan profile, upscaling, and frame generation also affect battery drain. A USB-C PD power bank is more important for F1 Pro owners than for typical Deck users.

SteamOS versus Windows 11

Steam Deck OLED: the console-like option

SteamOS is the Deck’s greatest advantage. It boots into a controller-first interface, integrates the Steam library, manages per-game settings, provides compatibility labels, and supports fast suspend/resume. Valve says the power button can suspend a game and later resume it from the same point, a feature that makes short handheld sessions unusually convenient.

SteamOS is not identical to Windows compatibility. Proton works well for many Steam games, but some Windows-only launchers, anti-cheat systems, and individual titles require extra configuration or do not work correctly. Non-Steam stores are possible, but generally less seamless than Steam.

OneXFly F1 Pro: the flexible Windows PC

Windows 11 is the F1 Pro’s practical advantage. It provides native access to Xbox PC Game Pass, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, Ubisoft Connect, mods, desktop software, and a wide range of peripherals. It is also the more capable choice if the handheld will double as a compact productivity PC.

The cost is convenience. Windows updates, launchers, pop-ups, driver tools, small touch targets, and inconsistent controller navigation can make the F1 Pro feel like a computer rather than a console. Booting directly into Steam Big Picture helps, but Windows was not designed primarily for a small touchscreen. Performance and battery settings may also require more manual tuning.

Verdict: SteamOS is better for simplicity; Windows is better for compatibility and flexibility. Neither operating system supports literally every game.

Controls and comfort

The F1 Pro weighs approximately 599g, compared with approximately 640g for the Steam Deck OLED. That makes OneXPlayer’s handheld lighter, but grip shape, balance, button reach, and stick placement matter more than weight alone.

PC Gamer praised the F1 Pro’s compact design, balance, rubberized texture, and ergonomics, while noting that comfort is subjective and that larger handhelds caused more cramping for that reviewer. Treat this as an individual review impression, not proof that the F1 Pro is universally more comfortable.

  • Carrying case with removable liner

The Deck has full-size controls, two trackpads, a gyroscope, and four assignable rear grip buttons. Those features are particularly useful for mouse-heavy games, strategy titles, aiming, and custom Steam Input layouts. The F1 Pro offers a more compact control layout and additional physical controls; verify the exact Hall-effect hardware and button configuration on the retail revision you purchase.

Ports, storage, and docked use

The F1 Pro is more convenient as a small PC. Its two USB4-C ports and USB-A 3.0 port make it easier to connect a display, mouse, keyboard, external drive, or other accessories without immediately adding a hub. It also includes a 65W GaN charger and a microSD slot.

The Deck has one USB-C port for charging, display output, and peripherals, alongside its microSD slot. It works with the official Steam Deck Docking Station, but a dock or hub is more important if you regularly use wired accessories or an external display.

The F1 Pro listing identifies an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe slot, while the Deck OLED offers internal NVMe storage and microSD expansion. Replacing an internal SSD may be faster than using a card, but it requires technical skill and should be checked against current service documentation, thermal clearance, operating-system imaging requirements, and warranty terms. MicroSD is an easy expansion route for indie games, older titles, and emulation; large modern games generally benefit from internal SSD storage.

Repairability and long-term ownership

Valve has the stronger documented ownership story. Its OLED page highlights Torx screws threaded into metal, fewer screw types, reduced repair steps, improved access to internal components, and replacement parts intended to be available through iFixit. The Deck also benefits from a large community and mature SteamOS support ecosystem.

The F1 Pro may age better in demanding games because of its faster APU and 32GB of memory, but that does not guarantee better long-term ownership. Before buying, confirm battery replacement options, current parts availability, the warranty region, return-window rules, and who pays international shipping. A third-party marketplace may provide a very different support experience from a regional official seller.

Which one should you buy?

Buy the Steam Deck OLED if you:

  • Mostly play Steam games, indie games, older games, or well-supported single-player titles.
  • Want the easiest handheld interface and reliable suspend/resume.
  • Value battery efficiency, a larger HDR OLED screen, trackpads, gyro, and rear buttons.
  • Prefer stronger repair documentation, community support, and a mature ecosystem.
  • Would rather spend less on the device and more on games, storage, or accessories.

Buy the OneXFly F1 Pro HX 370 if you:

  • Want the highest performance between these two handhelds.
  • Need Windows-native Game Pass, Epic, Battle.net, Ubisoft Connect, mods, or desktop applications.
  • Play demanding games and are willing to tune wattage, resolution, and upscaling.
  • Want sharper 1080p output, a 144Hz panel, 32GB memory, and more built-in ports.
  • Can stay near a charger or carry a suitable USB-C PD power bank.
  • Have verified that the current sale is for the HX 370/32GB/1TB configuration and includes acceptable warranty coverage.

Think twice before buying either

If a particular anti-cheat multiplayer game, launcher, or accessory is essential, check its current support for the exact operating system before purchasing. Compatibility can change with game patches, Proton versions, drivers, and SteamOS updates. Also avoid applying HX 370 performance claims to an F1 Pro configured with the Ryzen 7 8840U or another processor.

Final verdict

The Steam Deck OLED wins overall because it balances price, battery life, controls, display quality, software simplicity, and long-term ownership better. It is the recommendation for most Steam-focused players and anyone who wants a handheld that behaves more like a console.

The OneXFly F1 Pro HX 370 wins on performance and Windows flexibility. At a verified $999 sale price, it becomes much more compelling, but it remains a premium Windows PC with weaker demanding-game endurance and more setup friction. Choose it when those advantages directly match your library and workload—not simply because its specification sheet is larger.
