Orsivane is a Diablo IV Unique associated with the Sorcerer. Its reported power increases damage for each Defensive Skill you leave off your action bar and grants that skill’s associated Enchantment effect. Item databases disagree on whether it is a charm or a mace, so check the live game’s item slot and season before planning around it.
What Orsivane does
Orsivane’s listed effect rewards a Sorcerer for not equipping Defensive Skills: each Defensive Skill absent from the action bar contributes increased damage and grants its associated Enchantment effect. The databases report a 15%–25% damage range; the item’s actual value is a roll, so inspect the item in your current game version.

This effect makes the trade-off important: you gain damage and Enchantment effects, but give up the Defensive Skills you would otherwise place on the bar. Whether that suits a build depends on the skills and other options available in the specific version you are playing. The available item records do not establish a best-in-slot ranking.
Is Orsivane a charm or a mace?
The retrieved databases do not agree on its slot, and the available records may represent different versions or seasons. Wowhead has both an Ancestral Unique Charm record and a separate Ancestral Unique Mace record; DiabloFilter calls it a mace, while Bubaigei lists it as a charm for Season 15.
#1 Best Overall
| Database record | Slot and version details | Other listed details |
|---|---|---|
| Wowhead charm record | Ancestral Unique Charm; result indicates it was added in patch 3.0.1.71420 | Item power 800; level 78 Sorcerer requirement; 15.0%–25.0% increased damage |
| Wowhead mace record | Ancestral Unique Mace | Item power 800; 1,085 damage per second and 1.10 attack rate. These figures belong to the mace record, not the charm record. |
| DiabloFilter | Sorcerer Unique Mace | 15%–25% effect; lists Andariel and Cube routes |
| Bubaigei | Sorcerer Unique Charm for Season 15 | Reports the same core effect |
Because these records conflict, do not assume the slot or weapon statistics apply across versions. Verify the item shown in your client and compare it with the equipment slot and alternatives for your build before investing in a plan around it.
How to get Orsivane
DiabloFilter lists Andariel as a drop source and describes two Horadric Cube routes: transmuting five Pincushioned Dolls for random Andariel loot for your class, or upgrading a mace to a random Unique Mace. These are third-party database listings, not confirmed here against official Blizzard documentation; drop availability and Cube recipes can change with patches. Check the current in-game options before farming around either route.

What to check before using it
- Confirm the season and slot: records classify Orsivane as either a charm or mace, so use the item in your client as the deciding reference.
- Read the rolled power: the databases report a 15%–25% damage range, not one guaranteed value.
- Assess the action-bar trade-off: the effect is tied to Defensive Skills left unequipped, so account for both the damage and Enchantment benefits and the skills you give up.
- Verify acquisition details: the listed Andariel and Cube routes may be patch-sensitive.
