Overwatch 2 Season 17 launched on June 24, 2025. Its headline Bastion adjustment reduced his model and hit volume by 10% to improve survivability; the launch patch also changed the Damage-role passive and made separate, mode-specific perk adjustments in Stadium. Blizzard followed the launch with a July midseason balance pass, so June’s notes are not a complete account of the season or a guide to current live values.
What changed for Bastion?
The Season 17 launch patch reduced Bastion’s model and hit volume by 10%. In Blizzard’s June developer explanation, hero designer Scott Kennedy said: “Bastion’s size will be reduced by 10% when Season 17 launches to give him a survivability boost.” Blizzard’s Weekly Recall: The Balancing Act explained the reasoning: Bastion’s large model made him difficult to play in many situations, and he struggled to survive despite having the largest health and armor pool of any Damage hero.

Blizzard said it had tested a 15% reduction before choosing 10%. The adjustment targeted how easily Bastion could be hit; it was not a health increase. A smaller model and hit volume can make incoming attacks harder to land, while leaving his listed health and armor pool unchanged by this particular change.
What changed across the Damage role?
The launch patch increased the Damage-role passive’s healing reduction from 25% to 30%. It also extended the base health-regeneration timer from 5 to 6 seconds. Blizzard described the first adjustment as increasing the Damage role’s impact and the timer change as a way to slightly reduce moment-to-moment healing sustain. These were role-wide launch changes, not Bastion-only adjustments.

Which Season 17 changes were specific to Stadium?
The June 24 launch patch also adjusted perks for Ramattra and Zarya in Stadium. These are perk changes for that mode, not universal changes to the heroes’ Core kits.

What about Junker Queen, Pharah, and Lifeweaver?
Before the season, Blizzard previewed changes involving three more heroes. The preview said Junker Queen’s Commanding Shout would prioritize ally Overhealth, and described quality-of-life improvements for Pharah’s Helix Shields and Lifeweaver’s Cleansing Grasp. The available preview does not establish exact values for every item, so it is not enough to quantify those changes or treat the preview alone as a complete account of the June patch.

Yes. Blizzard’s July midseason patch summary says the update addressed less desirable perks, hero-ban trends, changes made after Season 17’s launch, and the stronger Damage passive. The summary available here does not specify the detailed July adjustments, so the June launch changes should not be presented as the season’s full balance history. Nor do the June and July notes establish the heroes’ live values in October 2026.
