Who is Wuyang?
Blizzard identifies Wuyang as a 19-year-old Support whose base is Wuxing University in Chengdu. He belongs to the university’s Water College and uses its healing technology; his birthday is May 1. Blizzard’s hero profile lists his biography and standard abilities.
What do Wuyang’s abilities do?
Xuanwu Staff: damage with controllable orbs
Xuanwu Staff fires water orbs that damage enemies. Holding the fire input lets Wuyang guide the orbs in mid-air and empower their explosion. The staff gives him a damage option alongside his support tools.
Restorative Stream: passive and active healing
Restorative Stream places a healing stream on an ally. It heals passively while attached; holding the input on that target switches to faster manual healing and consumes resource. The distinction matters in use: passive healing sustains an ally, while the resource-consuming mode lets Wuyang increase healing when a situation calls for it.

Rushing Torrent: repositioning and vertical movement
Rushing Torrent lets Wuyang ride water for a speed boost and a higher jump. It is his mobility tool for repositioning, not a direct heal or attack.
Guardian Wave: ally amplification and enemy knockback
Guardian Wave sends a wave forward. Allies touched by it receive increased healing, while enemies are knocked back. It therefore supports team healing and disrupts opponents with the same ability. Blizzard’s June 25, 2026 patch notes also say it extinguishes Burning status.

Tidal Blast: delayed protection and detonation
Tidal Blast places protective water on Wuyang or an ally, then detonates after a short delay. Blizzard’s hero profile says the blast massively heals the protected target and knocks down nearby enemies; the Season 18 announcement describes a protective effect followed by a knockback wave. These descriptions establish the delayed protective-heal and enemy-disruption role, though they use different wording for the enemy effect.
What are Wuyang’s standard perks?
Blizzard’s hero profile lists two Minor perks and two Major perks. Perks are distinct from the abilities above, and the Major perk list has a patch-sensitive discrepancy: the profile excerpt still shows Ebb and Flow, while Blizzard’s June 25, 2026 patch notes say it was replaced by Powerful Current. Check the current in-game perk selection rather than treating the profile listing as definitive.

The same June 2026 notes say Xuanwu Staff orbs are visible to Wuyang through walls. That is a visibility change, not a replacement for the staff’s guided-orb function.
How has Wuyang changed in patches?
Wuyang’s numbers and interactions have shifted since his debut. The figures below are official balance changes, not claims about how strong he is in the current competitive environment.

How is Stadium different?
Stadium has its own Wuyang powers and items. Blizzard’s June 2026 Stadium notes list new Bifurcation and Waveshatter powers, a Flow State rework, and an Undertow change that applies cooldown reduction to all abilities. Stadium weapon and survival items also belong to that mode. Do not treat these as standard hero perks or general live-kit changes; see Blizzard’s June 2026 Stadium notes.
How should you understand Wuyang’s role?
- For healing: Restorative Stream provides attached healing, with a resource-consuming manual mode; Guardian Wave increases allies’ healing received.
- For movement: Rushing Torrent supplies speed and jump height for repositioning.
- For disruption: Guardian Wave knocks enemies back, while Tidal Blast pairs protection and healing with a delayed enemy-disrupting detonation.
- For damage: Xuanwu Staff’s orbs can be guided and their explosions empowered.
These functions describe the kit, not a proven best build or rank. Balance changes and the current perk selection should be checked against the live client, especially where Blizzard’s profile and later patch notes differ.
