Blizzard’s Hero Trailer: Wuyang, published August 13, 2025, introduced Wuyang as a prodigy from Wuxing University’s Water College and a Support hero with a mix of healing, damage, and mobility. The trailer description also said his limited-time trial would run August 14–18, with his arrival planned for Season 18.

That was the initial character context. It did not, by itself, confirm the complete identity or hero role of another character. Blizzard’s official story “Against the Tide” develops Wuyang Ye and his family’s legacy, but the available official material does not support attributing a specific, definitive Anran reveal to a particular shot or line in the original trailer.

In its 2026 Overwatch Spotlight: The Reign of Talon Begins announcement, Blizzard explicitly identified Anran as Wuyang’s older sister and introduced her as a Damage hero who uses fire. The announcement describes her as joining Overwatch to save the world and keep Wuyang out of trouble.

So “teased” is best understood as foreshadowing: Wuyang’s story gave viewers a reason to anticipate a family member, and Blizzard later made that connection explicit while introducing Anran as a hero. Her fire-based identity, Damage role, and place in the roster are part of that later confirmation, not details to assume were already established by the original Wuyang reveal.

Blizzard’s Spotlight announcement lists Anran among five heroes launching in Season 1 of The Reign of Talon. That gives the family connection concrete roster context, but it does not mean the original reveal announced every element of her character or release.

Blizzard has also referred to a separate clue about Hero 55 in its 2026 BlizzCon announcement, which identifies Doctrine as Hero 54 and points to a roadmap planned for February 2027. The announcement does not connect that Hero 55 tease to Anran, Wuyang, or their family. There is no basis in these official sources to treat it as another Wuyang-family reveal.
