What changed in Overwatch’s October 6 patch?
The retail patch prevents Cassidy from attaching to Jetpack Cat’s Lifeline while High Noon is active. Blizzard’s patch notes list the change as: “High Noon * Now prevents attaching to Jetpack Cat’s Lifeline.” Read Blizzard’s October 6, 2026 patch notes.

That is a specific restriction on the High Noon–Lifeline interaction—not a removal of Lifeline or a ban on Cassidy and Jetpack Cat teaming up.
Why did Blizzard block the interaction?
Blizzard says the combination was too powerful because Lifeline let Cassidy reposition during High Noon and eliminate targets. The developer comment in the patch notes reads: “Lifeline can create unique interactions with several ultimates, but its combination with High Noon has proven too powerful at repositioning Cassidy to eliminate targets. High Noon will now prevent Cassidy from attaching to Lifeline. We will continue evaluating other interactions on a case-by-case basis.”

What does the change mean for the heroes?
After this patch, Cassidy cannot use Jetpack Cat’s Lifeline attachment during High Noon. The notes do not say that other Lifeline interactions have changed or that the two heroes cannot cooperate outside this specific situation. Blizzard says it will assess other interactions individually.
The official announcement explains the balance rationale but gives no pick rates, win rates, player survey, or measure of how popular or “fun” the combo was. Calling it one of the game’s most fun team-ups is therefore a matter of player opinion, not a conclusion established by the patch notes.
