Why Banks and Monk are out
The Packers ruled Banks out with knee and toe injuries and Monk out with a quadriceps injury. The NFL’s injury listing also recorded both players as out. These are game-week statuses from the report published October 2, ahead of Sunday’s matchup; they do not establish a recovery timetable.
Banks’ recent injury timeline
Banks missed Green Bay’s regular-season opener in Minnesota with a knee injury. He then injured his toe 22 snaps into the Week 2 game against the New York Jets and had not practiced since, according to the Packers’ report.
Monk’s injury and position flexibility
Monk left the Week 3 game against Atlanta in the fourth quarter with a quadriceps injury. The Packers’ announcement described him as a guard, while the detailed injury report listed him as a center/guard. Donovan Jennings finished that Atlanta game at right guard.

How Green Bay responded to the line absences
The Packers signed veteran guards Kevin Zeitler and Laken Tomlinson to the 53-man roster and added former first-round pick Mekhi Becton Sr. to the practice squad. All three practiced in full during the week. Those moves added experienced options, but roster status and practice participation alone do not confirm who would start.
Another interior-line question: Jager Burton
Center/guard Jager Burton was questionable with a groin injury after limited participation Thursday and Friday. His status left another interior-line contingency unresolved; the report did not confirm that he would be available.

Green Bay had a plan, but not a published starting five
Speaking Friday morning, head coach Matt LaFleur said: “We have a plan in place right now, and if everything goes the way we plan it to go, then we’ll be set,” while noting that one more practice remained before final decisions. The Packers’ report provided no confirmed starting combination, so it does not establish whether Jennings, Zeitler, Tomlinson, or another option would be in the lineup.
This is a pregame update based on information available in the October 2 report. Player statuses and lineup expectations can change before kickoff.
