Technical Manuals are consumable items in Palworld: use one from your inventory to add Technology points, then spend those points in the matching Technology tree. They are reported to come from chests and some Pal drops, but current drop rates and guaranteed farming locations are not established.
How do you get Technical Manuals in Palworld?
Technical Manuals are reported from exploration and combat. The Palworld Wiki.gg Technical Manual page describes chests and Pal drops as broad source categories, with higher-level dungeon chests and Wildlife Sanctuary chests mentioned for some types. Higher-tier manuals are generally associated with later progression or more difficult sources.
- Check chests in higher-level dungeons and other relevant chest areas as you explore.
- Some manuals are also reported as Pal drops, but the available item information does not establish a complete, current list of Pals that drop them.
These are reported routes, not a guaranteed farm. The community wiki does not provide an authoritative, current, version-stamped drop table establishing exact odds, respawn timing, or a single best location. It also says the listed manuals cannot be crafted or purchased from merchants; because that information is community-maintained and may change between game versions, treat it as a reported mechanic rather than a guarantee.
What do you do with a Technical Manual?
- Open your player inventory.
- Select and use the Technical Manual. The item is consumed immediately, according to the wiki’s use instructions.
- Open the Technology tree that matches the points the manual granted, then spend those points to unlock blueprints.
Regular Technology points and Ancient Technology points are separate currencies. A regular manual adds points for the regular Technology tree; an Ancient Technical Manual adds an Ancient Technology point for the Ancient Technology tree. The Technology page describes points as the currency used to unlock blueprints.
