Palworld has moved from video game to tabletop: Bushiroad’s Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME launched worldwide on July 30, 2026, with two trial decks and a first booster set. It is a substantial step in Palworld’s expansion into licensed products, though “full-blown franchise” is an interpretation—not a formal designation or proof of announced film or anime adaptations.
What the Palworld card game is—and what has launched
Published by Bushiroad, the Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME is a two-player competitive trading card game. Players deploy teams of Pals, gather resources and place structures to control the field. That makes it a tabletop strategy game drawing on Palworld’s world and systems, not merely a collection of character cards. Bushiroad’s official game site describes its play and launch.
Pocketpair, the video game’s developer and publisher, announced the tabletop project on January 12, 2026, describing it as a new format for the Palworld universe. Bushiroad is responsible for the card game. The first products—the Dawn of Palpagos booster and two trial decks—launched worldwide on July 30, 2026.
Trial decks: the structured way to start
The Red・Blue and Green・Purple trial decks each include a 60-card set: 50 main-deck cards and 10 soul-deck cards. Each also comes with a booster pack, play guide, paper playmat and paper life counter. For someone who wants to learn the game, a trial deck is the more direct starting point because it supplies a playable deck and basic aids.

Boosters: additional cards
Dawn of Palpagos is the first booster set. Packs are for players who want additional cards; they are not a substitute for the structured starting point of a trial deck. Bushiroad’s March 26, 2026 product announcement listed Japan prices of ¥1,980 per trial deck and ¥440 per seven-card booster pack. Those are Japan-specific prices, not international pricing. What comes next on the announced product schedule
Bushiroad scheduled the second booster, Legends Awaken, for October 30, 2026, and the official site listed Sleeve & Card Set Vol.1 for October 16, comprising a pack of 75 sleeves and cards. As of October 8, 2026, both dates were still in the future; they are scheduled releases, not products already launched.
The March announcement also outlined organized play: area qualifiers beginning in September 2026 across more than 20 regions for Japanese, English and Simplified Chinese editions, followed by a world final planned for the May 2027 Card Game Festival. These are announced plans, not confirmation that every event has taken place or that local participation is available everywhere.

Why the card game supports the franchise framing
The card game is part of a broader licensing push, rather than the only evidence that Palworld is expanding. On July 10, 2024, Pocketpair announced Palworld Entertainment, a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) and Aniplex, to promote Palworld licensing in Japan and internationally. Bushiroad’s October 7, 2026 update reported more than 32 million cumulative players for the video game across Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Mac since Early Access began on January 19, 2024. This is a cumulative player total, not a current active-player count.

On September 8, Bushiroad reported more than 4.4 million cumulative worldwide shipments of the Dawn of Palpagos first booster. Shipments are not the same as retail sell-through or the number of players. Bushiroad’s September announcement reports the shipment figure.
In its October 7 update, Bushiroad projected that worldwide sales across the first two boosters would surpass 11 million packs by early November 2026. That was a forward-looking projection, not a final result. The same update reported more than 24,000 participants in official demo sessions, which began in Japan and expanded to events and card shops worldwide. Attendance is not a count of unique customers or card sales. The official card-game site’s October 7 update reports the player total, projection and demo attendance.

Choosing an edition and finding a place to play
The right first purchase depends on whether you want a ready-to-learn deck or extra cards. Before buying, check the edition language and whether local players or events support it; Bushiroad’s announced competitive support covered Japanese, English and Simplified Chinese editions. The available announcements establish the product formats, but do not verify current retailer inventory, shipping, preorder availability or support in a particular location.
