Microsoft announced an expansion of in-game benefits for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on March 26, 2025. The selected free-to-play games offer items such as character access, cosmetics, in-game currency and experience boosts—but not unrestricted access to every premium item. The announcement is a dated rollout, not proof that every listed reward is still available; check the Xbox app or the current Game Pass benefits catalog before subscribing or trying to claim an offer.
What Microsoft added
The March 26, 2025 announcement expanded benefits for selected free-to-play games. These are game-specific rewards or access, not a replacement for the Game Pass game library and not a blanket grant of premium content. Microsoft’s announcement describes the initial rollout and its terms: Xbox’s March 2025 benefits announcement.

It helps to distinguish three things that may appear in the Xbox app:

- Ultimate Perks: a separate, rotating selection of offers and bundles. Xbox lists Perks separately from in-game benefits in its April 2025 update and May 2025 update.
- Game Pass library and discounts: separate subscription features; a benefit for a free-to-play game is not the same as adding that game’s paid content to the library.
The March announcement initially covered Heroes of the Storm, Naraka: Bladepoint, Smite 2 and The Finals. It also said benefits for Asphalt Legends Unite, Call of Duty: Warzone, Enlisted and War Thunder would begin in April 2025.

The table reflects what Xbox listed at announcement time. Platforms and account types below are those identified in that announcement; availability, redemption rules and rewards may since have changed.

Where the March announcement named a game and account but did not specify a platform or reward detail, the table says so rather than implying that the offer applied everywhere.

“All champions” or “all Agents” refers to playable roster access as described by the program; it does not mean that every skin, battle pass or other paid item is included. Xbox explicitly described exclusions for some Overwatch 2 content, including categories such as battle passes, collaborations and mythic content. Check the game’s terms for the applicable reward.

What later 2025 updates show
Xbox’s April 2, 2025 Game Pass update listed an Asphalt Legends Unite bundle for PC Game Pass and Ultimate members. Its April 2025 Wave 1 post is a dated example, not confirmation of present availability.
The April 15, 2025 update listed Call of Duty: Warzone Game Pass Pack 1: two Operator skins, three weapon blueprints, two emotes, two stickers, a weapon charm, a weapon reticle, an emblem, a background, and one-hour 2XP and 2WXP tokens. That post also illustrates why an announced benefit should be treated as a particular pack rather than a permanent entitlement.

Xbox’s May update included rotating Ultimate Perks for Metaball and UFL, further evidence that the broader Perks catalog changes over time. None of these 2025 examples establishes which offers are live in August 2026.

How to find and claim a benefit
Microsoft’s March 2025 instructions give this PC discovery path: open Xbox on PC, select the Game Pass tab, then choose More Benefits. Xbox also said a participating game’s page could show available benefits. App labels may have changed since that announcement, so use the current app’s benefits area if the wording differs.

- Confirm eligibility. Check the live offer in the Xbox app or benefits interface and verify that it names PC Game Pass or Ultimate, your platform and region.
- Sign in to the right Xbox profile. Use the Microsoft account that holds the active eligible subscription.
- Link the game account if prompted. Depending on the title, this may be a Riot, Battle.net, Embark, Gaijin, Gameloft Club, HoYoverse or Naraka account. Confirm the exact game profile before accepting the link.
- Launch or redeem as the offer directs. Some benefits require launching through Xbox on PC or the supported Xbox platform; others may require a claim action or an in-game step.
- Check the game’s delivery location. Depending on the title, look in its mailbox, rewards screen, store, inventory or account page, and complete any stated prerequisite.
The game’s platform and its own redemption rules still govern the benefit. Ultimate may support more ways to play than PC Game Pass, but it does not make a PC-only reward available on console or cloud automatically.

- It does not appear: confirm the subscription is active on the signed-in Xbox profile, the offer is still listed, and the game and platform are supported in your region.
- The game shows no reward: check that the Xbox profile is linked to the intended game account, launch through the required platform, and look for a claim button, mailbox delivery or in-game milestone.
- You see the offer but cannot redeem it: check for an expired promotion, platform mismatch, regional restriction, game update, delayed account synchronization or one-time redemption limit.
- The wrong publisher account is linked: stop before claiming if possible. Publisher rules may limit unlinking, relinking or transfers, and the process may not be immediately reversible.
- You subscribed after seeing an old offer: the past announcement does not establish that the offer is still claimable. Check the live listing and its membership and redemption terms.
What these benefits do—and do not—include
- They are selective: a game being free-to-play does not qualify it automatically; Microsoft described benefits for selected games.
- They are not all equivalent to cash: character access, XP boosts, cosmetics and promotional currency are tied to the game and account. Do not add retail prices for a presumed subscription saving unless the publisher establishes that value.
- They may be time-limited or rotate: a one-time grant differs from a monthly rotation or recurring boost, and an announcement is not a promise of permanent availability.
- They can have exclusions: a roster unlock is not every cosmetic, battle pass or premium item; game-specific terms control.
- They may require linked accounts: access can depend on a third-party account and correct profile pairing.
- Cancellation terms are game-specific: the announcement does not establish that every benefit remains usable after membership ends.
PC Game Pass or Ultimate: which makes sense?
The March 2025 announcement named PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate. The right choice depends on the specific live offer and how you play; do not assume another tier qualifies without checking its terms.

Do not assign a cash value to rotating or account-bound items without a publisher-backed valuation. Compare the benefits with the subscription’s broader features and with the cost of buying the specific content you actually want. Xbox’s plan pages can show current regional options: PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate and the Game Pass overview. Prices and plan availability vary by market and can change; check the page for your country rather than relying on an older figure.
Check the live catalog before subscribing
The available evidence establishes the March–May 2025 announcements, not the complete catalog on August 16, 2026. For the current offer, open the Xbox app’s Game Pass benefits area or check the relevant game page, then read the offer’s plan, platform, region, account-linking, expiry and redemption terms. Xbox’s Xbox app for PC page can help locate the app, but the live offer itself is the authority on eligibility.
