As of October 2, 2026, Penny Blood still has no publisher. Studio Wildrose is continuing work on PENNY BLOOD REVIOLENCE, a prequel novel set in the same world, but that spin-off does not mean the core RPG has secured funding, a publisher, or a release plan.
Does Penny Blood have a publisher?
No. In a status update reported on October 2, 2026, creator Matsuzo Machida said the team had not found a publisher. He shared the update after backers and fans asked about the crowdfunding campaign and the project. This is the latest status located as of October 3, 2026; it does not establish that talks have ended or that the game has been cancelled.
The update follows Studio Wildrose’s March 18, 2026 anniversary post, in which Machida said the studio remained in contact with several companies and was having concrete discussions. He described the challenge as a difficult market for a costly RPG: publishers assess scope, schedule, and profitability, and may favor properties with a proven sales record. That is Machida’s account of the studio’s situation and his assessment of the market, not an independently measured industry-wide finding.
What is PENNY BLOOD REVIOLENCE?
REVIOLENCE is a prequel to the main Penny Blood story. It follows Matthew, a World War I veteran who becomes a warrior hunting monstrous or otherworldly beings. Studio Wildrose describes it as a spin-off and says it is producing the novel as part of an effort to build awareness and value for the Penny Blood intellectual property while continuing to pursue the game.

When does the REVIOLENCE novel come out?
A fall 2026 release window was previously reported, but that was a target, not a confirmed date. The available updates do not confirm that the novel has been released as of October 3, 2026, or establish its edition, language, territory, price, or seller. There is no basis here to say it is available to buy now.

The novel and the RPG are separate developments. Studio Wildrose moving ahead with REVIOLENCE is evidence of work on the wider franchise, not evidence that the core game has obtained a publisher or a production schedule. In March, Machida said the studio wanted to steadily increase the IP’s value; he also wrote, in the English translation reproduced in coverage of the post, that “There are high walls that cannot be overcome by our passion alone.”
