The 2025 Phasmophobia roadmap was a provisional plan, not a fixed release calendar. Chronicle, the Bleasdale and Grafton reworks, and Nell’s Diner arrived during 2025; the Player Character Update and 6 Tanglewood Drive rework slipped into 2026. The latest official revision reviewed here places Phasmophobia 1.0 in the second half of 2027, a future target that may still change.
What the 2025 roadmap promised
Kinetic Games published its roadmap in February 2025, grouping planned work into major updates, maps and reworks, and seasonal events. The studio cautioned that everything was still in development and could change. The post gave some month- or season-level expectations, but it was not a complete day-by-day schedule. Major updates
- Chronicle: The planned first major update would overhaul evidence recording and rewards, add a Media tab to the Journal for photos and videos, and introduce the Sound Recorder.
- Player Character Overhaul: Planned as the second major update of the year, it was to refresh character models and animations and adjust the character experience. Full player customization was identified separately as a 2026 update.
Maps and reworks
- New small map: Kinetic said it was developing a new type of setting, comparable in scale to the houses. The studio described smaller maps as a way to release maps more regularly.
- Bleasdale Farmhouse: The roadmap expected this rework in March 2025.
- Grafton Farmhouse and 6 Tanglewood Drive: Both were listed for later in 2025.
Seasonal events
The plan called for a new Easter event, the Blood Moon cult’s return in October, and Krampus returning for Winter’s Jest. It also previewed personal rewards and a weekly rotation across a wider selection of maps.
What released, and when
Later announcements supplied exact dates for several items that the original roadmap had only placed in a month or season. Here is how the plan compared with the releases.

What slipped from 2025
Player Character Overhaul
The character update did not arrive in its planned 2025 slot; Kinetic released it in May 2026. The studio’s original plan had already distinguished this overhaul from the more extensive full-customization update it associated with 2026.
6 Tanglewood Drive rework
The Tanglewood rework also missed its planned 2025 window and arrived in March 2026. That makes it the one named 2025 map rework in the roadmap that did not ship during the year.

How the outlook changed after 2025
The original roadmap described Horror 2.0, new maps, and further reworks as 2026 intentions. Kinetic’s later roadmap first outlined a broader 2026 slate, including Player Character work, Unity 6, a netcode update, Nintendo Switch 2, Phasmophobia 1.0, map reworks, another new map, and returning events. Those plans were revised in June 2026.
In that June update, Kinetic said 2026 would focus on quality-of-life improvements and Unity 6, with two quality-of-life updates and a later-year Player Character update. The studio moved both Phasmophobia 1.0 and the next new map to 2027, and said Nintendo Switch 2 would launch alongside 1.0. It set the 1.0 target for the second half of 2027. How to interpret the schedule
- Use the later date when plans conflict: the 2026 revision supersedes the original roadmap’s broad 2026 intentions for 1.0 and the next new map.
- Distinguish a window from a date: the 2025 post often named a month or season; exact release dates for some items came later.
- Check release notes for specifics: Kinetic’s official news feed is useful for historical dates and titles, while individual update posts give more detail about changes.
