EA acknowledged reports that Plants vs. Zombies 2 was freezing or closing during Arena matches, but the forum post did not confirm a fix. EA community manager EA_Cath said the team was working on the issue and clarified that the reply was marked as a solution only to make it easier to find. The available information does not establish whether a patch has shipped since that acknowledgment.
What EA said about the Arena crashes
In EA’s forum thread, titled “Known issue | Arena shutting down”, players reported that the game froze or shut down during Arena play. EA community manager EA_Cath wrote: “Teams are aware of this issue and are doing their best to fix this issue as soon as possible!”
EA_Cath then clarified why the reply had an accepted-solution marker: “I’m accepting this message as a “solution” for better visibility. We do not considered this issue to be fixed yet!” In other words, the marker was for visibility, not confirmation that the crash had been resolved.
Is the Arena crash fixed now?
The acknowledgment documents what EA said in that forum thread; it does not establish the issue’s current status or confirm that a later update fixed it. No later patch or current resolution is confirmed by the available information, so it would be inaccurate to say either that the fix is still in progress or that the problem is resolved.

What affected players can do
Use EA’s Plants vs. Zombies 2 support page for official help. It provides separate mobile-game troubleshooting routes for Android and iPad/iPhone, a “Report a bug” path, and support for missing currency, items, or rewards.
These are official support options, not confirmed workarounds for the Arena crash specifically. Choose the troubleshooting guidance for the device you play on, or report the issue to EA if it persists. If a crash also caused a reward or item to go missing, use the corresponding missing-content support route.

What player reports do—and don’t—show
One forum participant said the game crashed around the 1 minute 30 second mark across at least four Arena games. That is an individual account, not a measured crash rate or evidence that every player experiences the same timing. The reports establish that players raised the problem with EA, but they do not provide an independent technical diagnosis.
