Short answer: Sony’s current listing offers Gran Turismo 7 for PS4 and PS5, not Windows or macOS. The practical official way to play it on a PC today is to run the game on a PlayStation and stream it with PS Remote Play. RPCS3 will not run GT7 because it emulates PlayStation 3, while GT7 is a PS4/PS5 game.

Is Gran Turismo 7 available natively on PC?
No official Windows or macOS version is listed. Sony’s current product page identifies Gran Turismo 7 as a PS4 and PS5 title released on March 4, 2022. The official PlayStation Store listing likewise provides console editions rather than a PC build.

That means a “GT7 PC version,” “GT7 Steam crack” or unofficial PC launcher is not a legitimate Sony release. Such downloads may be unauthorized, malicious or simply repackaged software.

What you need for PS Remote Play
Required hardware and accounts
- A PS4 or PS5 with current system software.
- A legitimate copy of Gran Turismo 7 for that console.
- A PlayStation Network account.
- A Windows PC or Mac that meets Sony’s Remote Play requirements.
- A compatible controller and high-speed network connection.
Windows requirements
- Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11.
- Seventh-generation Intel Core processor or later.
- At least 100 MB storage, 2 GB RAM, a 1,024 × 768-or-higher display, sound card and USB port.
Mac requirements
- macOS Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia or Tahoe.
- At least 40 MB storage and 2 GB RAM.
Sony documents support for DualSense, DualSense Edge and DUALSHOCK 4 controllers, preferably connected by USB. These are application requirements, not local GT7 rendering specifications: the PlayStation renders the game and the computer receives a video stream.

Sony recommends at least 5 Mbps upload and download, with 15 Mbps or higher recommended for best performance. Upload capacity at the console matters as much as download capacity at the PC.
Set up Remote Play on PS5
- Download the official PS Remote Play app; use Sony’s setup page rather than third-party download portals.
- On the PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play and turn on Enable Remote Play.
- For wake-up from Rest Mode, open Settings > System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode. Enable Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning on PS5 from Network.
- Connect a DualSense, DualSense Edge or DUALSHOCK 4 to the computer, preferably with a USB cable.
- Turn on the PS5 or place it in Rest Mode. Launch Remote Play, sign in with the same PlayStation account and choose PS5.
- Select the console when it appears, then launch Gran Turismo 7 from the PlayStation interface.
Set up Remote Play on PS4
- On the PS4, open Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings and turn on Enable Remote Play.
- Open Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PS4 > Activate. Sony allows only one primary PS4 per account.
- For Rest Mode access, open Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Features Available in Rest Mode. Enable Stay Connected to the Internet and the network wake-up option.
- Connect the controller to the PC or Mac, launch Remote Play, sign in with the console account and select PS4.
- Choose the console and start Gran Turismo 7.
If the app cannot find your console
Test locally before attempting an outside-the-home connection. Put the computer and console on the same network, confirm Remote Play is enabled, update system software and verify that both devices use the same PlayStation account.
If automatic discovery still fails, pair manually:
- On PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play > Pair Device. On PS4, open Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings > Add Device.
- Note the number displayed on the console.
- In the computer’s Remote Play app, enter that number.
Best Remote Play settings for racing
- Use Ethernet for the console when practical, and Ethernet or strong 5 GHz/6 GHz Wi-Fi for the PC.
- Stop large downloads, video streams and cloud backups on the network.
- Start with a lower Remote Play resolution or frame-rate setting if the image stutters.
- Use a wired controller to remove an additional wireless link and simplify troubleshooting.
- Keep the console firmware and Remote Play app current.
- Test on the local network before relying on remote access.
Remote Play captures, encodes, transmits and decodes the game while sending controller input back to the console. A fast connection does not guarantee zero delay. Compression may soften detail or create artifacts, and congestion can cause stutter or disconnects. Braking and steering corrections can therefore feel less consistent than playing directly on the console; serious online competition is best played locally when possible.
PS4 or PS5 for GT7?
Gran Turismo 7 is officially available on both platforms. The store lists a PS4-only Standard Edition and a PS4/PS5 Standard Edition; PS5-specific features include PS5 enhancements and optional PlayStation VR2 support. See Sony’s game page and store listing for the current editions.

If you already own a working PS4, buying a PS5 solely to improve the streamed picture may not deliver a proportional benefit; the network and Remote Play settings still govern what appears on the PC.
Online play, accounts and accessories
Sony’s listing says online play is optional, PlayStation Plus is required for online multiplayer, and up to 20 players are supported with PlayStation Plus. In-game purchases are optional. “Optional online play” does not mean every service, update, account function or feature works without an internet connection.
Sony specifically documents DualSense, DualSense Edge and DUALSHOCK 4 for Remote Play. It does not guarantee that every racing wheel connected to a PC will pass through to GT7 on the console. A standard supported controller is the dependable setup; connect a wheel directly to the PlayStation and verify its GT7 compatibility if wheel use is essential.
Can an emulator run Gran Turismo 7?
Why RPCS3 is the wrong emulator
RPCS3’s documentation identifies it as an open-source PlayStation 3 emulator, with compatibility tracked by PS3 game IDs and versions in its compatibility list. PS3 Gran Turismo titles may be relevant to RPCS3; GT7 is not, because it was released for PS4 and PS5. Installing RPCS3 will not make GT7 playable.

What about PS4 or PS5 emulation?
There is no mainstream, verified, consumer-ready PS4/PS5 emulation method recommended here for playing GT7 on an ordinary PC. That is different from claiming that no experimental project could ever boot any portion of the game. For a reliable, current game with online services and updates, Remote Play is the practical legal route.
Avoid pirated ISOs or PKG files, console encryption keys, torrents, modified executables and unofficial emulator builds claiming PS4/PS5 support. RPCS3’s support guidance recommends official builds and does not support unofficial or outdated ones.

The picture is blurry or unstable
- Move the console to Ethernet if possible.
- Use a stronger wired or wireless connection for the PC.
- Reduce Remote Play resolution or frame rate.
- Stop downloads and streaming on both ends.
- Check the console’s upload capacity and test locally.
The controls feel slow
Use a wired controller, reduce network congestion and prefer local-network play. Lowering quality can help when instability causes buffering, but no setting guarantees a fixed latency improvement. For precision-critical racing, play directly on the console.
The controller does not respond
- Check the USB cable, battery and pairing state.
- Confirm the controller is connected to the computer rather than another device.
- Close applications that may have captured controller input.
- Use one of Sony’s documented DualSense, DualSense Edge or DUALSHOCK 4 controllers.
The console wakes but the session fails
Reconnect locally, sign in again, re-register the console manually, restart both devices and verify the console network. Check PlayStation service status before treating the problem as a PC fault.
If you are PC-only
Without access to a PS4 or PS5, Remote Play cannot help because it is a display-and-control link to a console; it is not a cloud PC version. The official choices are to obtain compatible PlayStation hardware or select a native PC racing game. Do not buy an unofficial “GT7 PC” download or an emulator product advertised as a shortcut.
What to buy
- Already own a PS4 or PS5: Use the appropriate GT7 edition, install Remote Play and start with your existing supported controller.
- Want the best official setup: A PS5 and the PS4/PS5 edition provide the broadest current platform options. Check PlayStation Direct and Sony’s PS5 page for live hardware availability and pricing.
- Budget-conscious: An existing or affordable PS4 is sufficient for access through Remote Play. See Sony’s PS4 page.
- Controller: Sony lists the DualSense and DUALSHOCK 4 as supported options; an existing compatible controller may be all you need.
- Network: Prefer Ethernet where practical. A gaming router or capture card is not a GT7 requirement.
Check the official GT7 store page for current edition and price information; temporary discounts can expire.
The Bottom Line
If you own a PS4 or PS5, install Sony’s PS Remote Play app and stream Gran Turismo 7 to your PC. If you want the strongest official setup, choose a PS5; if you want an emulator, do not choose RPCS3—its target is PlayStation 3, not GT7.
